  1. 6. Chemical and Clinical Studies of Isocyanate Contact Allergy with focus on diphenylmethane diisocyanate

    Författare :Malin Engfeldt; Yrkes- och miljödermatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; venereologi; Dermatologi; venereology; Dermatology; occupational; allergic contact dermatitis; polyurethane;

    Sammanfattning : Isocyanates are highly reactive compounds used in the production of polyurethane. Exposure to isocyanates is mainly associated with respiratory disorders, but may also result in allergic contact dermatitis. Reports describing contact allergy to isocyanates are few in number and it has been considered a rare phenomenon. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Protein adducts of hexahydrophthalic anhydride- chemical structures and biomarkers

    Författare :Monica Kåredal; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; arbetsmiljömedicin; Yrkesmedicin; industrial medicine; Occupational health; nasal lavage; mass spectrometry; biomarker; human serum albumin; hemoglobin; Hexahydrophthalic anhydride; adducts;

    Sammanfattning : Organic acid anhydrides (OAAs) are low molecular weight chemicals used in the industry for manufacturing of plastics such as epoxy resins. Exposure to these chemicals may lead to symptoms from the eyes and the respiratory tract in form of conjunctivitis, rhinitis and asthma. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Indoor and Outdoor Air Pollution in Relation to Allergy and Asthma in Taiyuan, China

    Författare :Zhuohui Zhao; Dan Norbäck; Jan Sundell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; Indoor air; China; School; Allergen; Dust; Microbial exposure; SO2; Air pollutants; Epidemiology; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD;

    Sammanfattning : The aim was to study the prevalence of asthma, eczema, allergy and respiratory symptoms among pupils in Shanxi province, China, in relation to home and school environment and outdoor air pollution. In one study there was a low prevalence of self-reported asthma, eczema and pollen or pet allergy among pupils (9-20y). LÄS MER

  4. 9. Novel Technique for Analysing Volatile Compounds in Indoor Dust : Application of Gas Chromatography – UV Spectrometry to the Study of Building-Related Illness

    Författare :Anders Nilsson; Christer Tagesson; Verner Lagesson; Göran Strid; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :acrylates adverse effects; air pollution; ultraviolet; indoor analysis; chromatography; gas; environmental exposure adverse effects; sick building syndrome etiology; dust; volatilization; Spectrophotometry; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : It is now generally acknowledged that particulate air pollution can cause respiratory symptoms and that indoor dust particles may be associated with mucous membrane irritation and odour annoyance. One reason for this may be that dust particles adsorb large quantities of gases and other volatile compounds. LÄS MER
