1. Microstructure and high temperature properties of Mo(Si,Al)2 - The effect of particle strengthening and alloying
Sammanfattning : High temperature heating processes within the steel industries result in significant emissions of CO2, primarily due to the combustion of fossil fuels. Electrification of these processes, such as through the implementation of resistive heating elements, holds great promise for reducing emissions. LÄS MER
2. The Prevalence of Radioactivity in a Number of Non-Nuclear Industries
Sammanfattning : Four different non-nuclear industries have been investigated regarding the presence of radioactive elements, with the focus on natural radioactivity. The aim of the studies was to investigate the flow of radionuclides in the processes and/or to estimate doses to exposed workers. LÄS MER
3. Nanostructured Ceramics - Synthesis and Understanding
Sammanfattning : During the last years, nanostructured ceramics have been favored for use in the industry due to their beneficial properties. For example, calcium phosphate ceramics with their biocompatible and bioactive characteristics are beneficial in biomedicine. LÄS MER
4. Vems hand är det som gör? : En systertext om konst/hantverk, klass, feminism och om viljan att ta strid
Sammanfattning : Whose hand is making? And how can we understand craft practices in dialogue with society through making and objects? How do we understand objects that manifest resistance? This dissertation in artistic research explores craft practices within the fields of ceramics and textile, through the method and form of autoethnography, and on the basis of an intersectional perspective. It understands making as embodied experience and knowledge, conditioned, but not always bounded, by societal structures, and it documents the resistance against, and the resilience of, repressive structures, in dialogues and struggles where objects gain agency. 5. Sense, Actuate and Survive : Ceramic Microsystems for High-Temperature Aerospace Applications
Sammanfattning : In aerospace applications, but also in manufacturing, mining, energy industry and natural hazards, high temperature, corrosion, erosion and radiation, challenge the performance and being of hardware. In this work, high-temperature co-fired ceramic (HTCC) alumina and platinum have been used for a range of devices intended for aerospace applications at up to 1000°C.
