  1. 1. Chemical Speciation of Sulfur and Metals in Biogas Reactors : Implications for Cobalt and Nickel Bio-uptake Processes

    Författare :Sepehr Shakeri Yekta; Bo Svensson; Ulf Skyllberg; Åsa Danielsson; Charles Banks; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biogas; Anaerobic digestion; Chemical speciation; bio-uptake; Sulfur; Iron; Cobalt; Nickel; Biogas; Anaerob nedbrytning; Kemisk speciering; Bio-upptag; Svavel; Järn; Kobolt; Nickel;

    Sammanfattning : A balanced supply of micronutrients, including metals such as iron (Fe), cobalt (Co), and nickel (Ni), is required for the efficient and stable production of biogas. During biogas formation, the uptake of micronutrient metals by microorganisms is controlled by a complex network of biological and chemical reactions, in which reduced sulfur (S) compounds play a central role. 2. 2. Roles of mammalian Scribble in polarity signaling, virus offense and cell-fate determination

    Författare :Michael Wigerius; Magnus Johansson; Lawrence Banks; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Mammalian Scribble is a target for proteins encoded by human papilloma virus, retro- and flaviviruses. Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) is a flavivirus that have evolved distinct strategies to escape antiviral responses. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Central bank power: a matter of coordination rather than money supply

    Författare :Ingemar Bengtsson; Fastighetsvetenskap; []

    Sammanfattning : After an introductory chapter, the hypothesis is made in chapter two: that central bank power to control the rate of inflation rests on the bank’s ability to achieve a role as a focal point for inflation. Inflation is a measure of changes in the general price level, the price level is an index of individual prices, and to predict future price levels is thus to predict future prices on individual items. 4. 4. Bankers portföljvalsbeteende : en teoretisk studie

    Författare :Lars Ivarson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Portfolio theory; bank behaviour; credit multiplier process; free reserves adjustment; monetary policy;

    Sammanfattning : This study is a contribution to the development of the theory of bank portfolio selection behaviour. A central idea in the study is that this behaviour can be explained to a large extent by liquidity considerations which banks make in view of the partly uncontrollable and partly unforeseeable fluctuations which occur in their deposits and to a certain extent, also in their loans. 5. 5. Determinants and Effects of Central Bank Independence Reforms

    Författare :Mats Landström; Karl-Gustaf Löfgren; Sven-Olov Daunfeldt; Andreas Bergh; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Monetary policy; institutional reform; central banking; price stability; political economy; delegation; institutional economics; inflation; time-inconsistency; accountability; nationalekonomi; Economics; Complex Systems – Microdata Analysis; Komplexa system - mikrodataanalys;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four empirically oriented papers on central bank independence (CBI) reforms.   Paper [1] is an investigation of why politicians around the world have chosen to give up power to independent central banks, thereby reducing their ability to control the economy.
