  1. 1. Rheology of cement grout  : Ultrasound based in-line measurement technique and grouting design parameters

    Författare :Mashuqur Rahman; Stefan Larsson; Ulf Håkansson; Olafur Wallevik; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; grouting; grouting design; cement grout; Bingham number; shear rate; plug flow; thixotropy; yield stress; in-line rheology; UVP PD; Flow-Viz; viscosity bifurcation; aging; off-line rheometry; pump characteristics; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Grouting is performed in order to decrease the permeability and increase the stiffness of the material, especially soil and rock. For tunnelling and underground constructions, permeation grouting is done where cement based materials are pumped inside drilled boreholes under a constant pressure, higher than the ground water pressure. 2. 2. Hip revisions with impacted morselized allograft bone and cement. Patient outcome, prosthetic fixation and risks

    Författare :Ewald Ornstein; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiostereometry; NHP; patient outcome; cement; allograft; morselized; impacted; bone transplantation; hip; Arthroplasty; revision; complications; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : 144 consecutive hip revisions performed with morselized allograft bone and cement were followed up to 5 years after surgery. In 49 hips patient outcome was evaluated with the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) questionnaire and Charnley hip scores in 47 hips prosthetic fixation was evaluated with radiostereometry (RSA)and in all 144 hips risks and complications were recorded using a prspective protocol. 3. 3. Fixation of the cemented acetabular component in hip arthroplasty

    Författare :Gunnar Flivik; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi; orthopaedics; reumatologi; Surgery; Skelett; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skeleton; Cement pressurization; Cement penetration; Acetabulum; Cancellous bone; muskelsystem; Total hip arthroplasty; RSA;

    Sammanfattning : In total hip arthroplasty cemented fixation of the acetabular component is a generally successful concept, but the rate of aseptic loosening and consequent revision surgery is still too high. One of the crucial factors for longterm implant survival is the initial fixation and stability. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The Entheses of the Medial Meniscns and Ligaments of the Knee Joint : Descriptive and Experimental Studies

    Författare :Jizong Gao; Michael Benjamin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :knee joint; meniscus; ligaments; insertion; enthesis; quantitative morphology; fibrocartilage; cement line; collagens; proteoglycans; nerve fibres; tensile strength; failure mode; transection; refixation; repair; healing; osteoarthrosis; histology; immunohistochemistry; biomechanics; rabbit model; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Meniscal injuries are common in sports. Surgical removal of the meniscus to relieve symptoms is associated with a high risk for late knee joint osteoarthrosis and pain. Meniscal repair or replacement has therefore been advocated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. In-line rheology of cement grouts - Feasibility study of an ultrasound based non-invasive method

    Författare :Mashuqur Rahman; Stefan Larsson; Ulf Håkansson; Thomar Dalmalm; Lars-O Ericsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Järnvägsgruppen - Infrastruktur; Järnvägsgruppen - Infrastruktur;

    Sammanfattning : Grouting is used in underground construction to reduce the water flow into tunnels and caverns and to limit the lowering of the surrounding groundwater table. Due to their wide availability and low cost relative to other materials, cement based materials are commonly used as grouts and, in this context, the rheology of the cement grout is an important factor.
