16. Bio-based preparation of nanocellulose and functionalization using polyelectrolytes
17. Porous Materials from Cellulose Nanofibrils
Sammanfattning : In the first part of this work a novel type of low-density, sponge-like material for the separation of mixtures of oil and water has been prepared by vapour deposition of hydrophobic tri-chloro-silanes on ultra-porous cellulose nanofibril (CNF) aerogels. To achieve this, a highly porous (>99%) robust CNF aerogel with high structural flexibility is first formed by freeze-drying an aqueous suspension of the CNFs. LÄS MER
18. Two-dimensional Nanocomposites Based on Cellulose Nanofibrils and Graphene Oxide
Sammanfattning : Two-dimensional (2D) nanocomposites based on cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and 2D nanomaterials are of interest as sustainable materials combining functional and structural properties. To achieve reinforcement effects from 2D nanomaterials, their orientation and dispersion state in the CNF matrix are important. LÄS MER
19. Functional Nanocellulose–Tannin Materials Inspired by Nature and Traditional Processes
Sammanfattning : Renewable and biodegradable alternatives to fossil-based materials are essential as concerns over depleting finite resources and the pollution of our ecosystems are growing. Abundant, highly anisotropic, and mechanically strong cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) are attractive building blocks for the fabrication of high-performance biobased materials that can compete with their conventional fossil-based counterparts. 20. Tailored adhesion of PISA-latexes for cellulose modification and new materials
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on applying modification chemistry to already known cellulosic substrates from wood (i.e. cellulose nanofibrils, CNFs, and cellulose nanocrystals, CNCs). LÄS MER
