  1. 21. Water Fluxes and Cell Migration : How Aquaporin 9 Controls Cell Shape and Motility

    Författare :Thommie Karlsson; Karl-Eric Magnusson; Roger Karlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Prerequisites for all modes of cell migration are cell-substratum interactions that require a sophisticated interplay of membrane dynamics and cytoskeletal rearrangement. Generally, a migrating cell is polarized with a distinct rear and front, from which it extends a wide and thin membrane protrusion- lamellipodium, small fingerlike projections- filopodia, and membrane blisters- blebs. 2. 22. Signaling determinants in Trojan horse-mediated dissemination of Toxoplasma gondii

    Författare :Einar B. Ólafsson; Antonio Barragan; Eva Frickel; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Apicomplexa; leukocyte motility; dendritic cell; amoeboid migration; host-parasite interactions; podosome; integrin; ITGB1; ECM; MAT; TIMP; MMP; MAPK; Erk; RTK; HGFR; Ras; calcium; VDCC; VGCC; calmodulin; CaMkII; CD63; FAK; SRC; Pi3k; hypermigration; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that infects all warm-blooded vertebrates including one third of the global human population. While infection is typically asymptomatic in healthy human hosts, reactivated and acute infection in immunosuppressed or immunecompromised individuals can lead to lethal toxoplasmic encephalitis After ingestion, the parasite crosses the intestinal epithelium and rapidly achieves systemic dissemination, ultimately establishing chronic infection in the brain. Sammanfattning : Pericytes are cells of mesenchymal origin located on the abluminal side, juxtapositioned to the endothelial cells in capillaries, venules and small arterioles. They are important for maintaining vessel integrity in resting tissues as well as the formation and stabilization of new vessels. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular Apicomplexan parasite that could possibly infect all warm-blooded animals. Acute infections with T. LÄS MER

  5. 25. The Role of SOX9 in Medulloblastoma

    Författare :Vasil Savov; Fredrik Swartling; Ulrich Schüller; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Medulloblastoma (MB) is the most common malignant pediatric brain tumor. Overall survival is about 70% and in cases where current treatment fails, the disease recurs and most often is fatal. At the molecular level, MB can be divided into four defined subgroups: WNT, SHH, Group 3 and Group 4. LÄS MER
