  1. 1. Aerosol Metal Nanoparticles and their Role in Particle-Assisted Growth of III–V Nanowires

    Författare :Robert Hallberg; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aerosol formation; III–V semiconductor materials; catalyst particles; Palladium nanoparticles; Gold nanoparticles; Spark discharge generation; MOVPE; MOCVD; Transmission electron microscopy TEM ; Phase stability; Nanoparticle deposition; Nanoparticle generation; nanoparticles characterization; Nanowire NW ; Nanowire growth;

    Sammanfattning : Semiconductor nanowires have properties that make them potentially useful for applications in future electronic, photovoltaic, and optoelectronic devices. A powerful nanowire fabrication technique is the use of a nanoparticle as a preferential nucleation site, from which a nanowire grows. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cobalt catalyst supports for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

    Författare :Fatima Pardo-Tarifa; Lars J. Pettersson; Olga Guerrero; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Silica; alumina; zirconium; cerium; mesoporous materials; nanoparticles; microemulsion; atrane route; cobalt catalyst; Fischer-Tropsch synthesis; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In the Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis, CO and H2 (synthesis gas) are converted into hydrocarbons that can be further upgraded to high-quality fuels and chemicals. Different carbon sources such as natural gas, coal and biomass can be used as feed-stocks for the synthesis gas. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Plasma Synthesis and Self-Assembly of Magnetic Nanoparticles

    Författare :Sebastian Ekeroth; Ulf Helmersson; Nils Brenning; Franz Faupel; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plasma; Synthesis; Self-Assembly; Magnetic; Nanoparticles;

    Sammanfattning : Nanomaterials are important tools for enabling technological progress as they can provide dramatically different properties as compared to the bulk counterparts. The field of nanoparticles is one of the most investigated within nanomaterials, thanks to the existing, relatively simple, means of manufacturing. LÄS MER

    Författare :Robin N. Dürr; Leif Hammarström; Bruno Jousselme; Tomas Edvinsson; Haining Tian; Kevin Sivula; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electrocatalysis; Electrolyzer cell; HER catalyst; OER catalyst; Water splitting; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis work, different classes of catalysts and their suitability for integration into an electrolyzer cell has been investigated.Ruthenium based molecular catalysts have shown high activities and stabilities towards water oxidation in neutral pH. Especially the oligomeric catalysts exhibited a superior performance. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation of NMR Knight shifts in metallic nanoparticles and topological matter

    Författare :Wassilios Papawassiliou; Andrew Pell; Niklas Hedin; Ulla Gro Nielsen; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; solid-state NMR; Knight shifts; metallic systems; topological matter; nanoparticles; DFT calculations; Physical Chemistry; fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Elucidating the surface electron states of transition metal compounds is of primary importance in main heterogeneous catalytic processes, such as the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions.  Key property in all these processes is the position of the energy of the d-band center relative to the Fermi-level of the catalyst; it must be shifted close to the Fermi level to achieve balance between adsorption and desorption of the catalyst and the adsorbate.
