21. Ambulance Work : Relationships between occupational demands, individual characteristics and health-related outcomes
Sammanfattning : Although musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and other health complaints are an occupational problem for ambulance personnel, there is a lack of knowledge regarding work-related factors associated with MSDs and other health complaints. The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate the relationships between occupational demands, individual characteristics and health-related outcomes among ambulance personnel. LÄS MER
22. High capacity timber joints : Proposal of the shear plate dowel joint
Sammanfattning : An increased use of wood can reduce the environmental footprint of the building sector by being a renewable and ecological material. In order to improve the competitiveness of heavy timber structures, this thesis presents a novel type of timber connection with a high degree of prefabrication, which utilizes a resilient bond line. 24. Evaluation of Splitting Capacity of Bottom Rails in Partially Anchored Timber Frame Shear Walls
Sammanfattning : The horizontal stabilization of timber frame buildings is oftenprovided by shear walls. Plastic design methods can be used todetermine the load-carrying capacity of fully and partially anchoredshear walls. In order to use these methods, a ductile behaviour of thesheathing-to-framing joint must be ensured. LÄS MER
25. Corrosion of steel bars in fibre reinforced concrete: corrosion mechanisms and structural performance
Sammanfattning : The viability of employing fibre reinforcement to improve the durability performance of RC structures by delaying and/or reducing rebar corrosion and by mitigating the structural impact of corrosion-induced damage have been investigated. Given the enhanced crack control of FRC, it could be advantageous to use fibres in civil engineering structures to decrease the ingress of corrosion-initiation substances. LÄS MER
