  1. 6. Novel and Traditional Risk Factors for Coronary Artery Disease : Role of Coronary Artery Calcium, Lipidomics, Psychosocial Factors and Diet

    Författare :Demir Djekic; Ole Fröbert; Annika Rosengren; Tuulia Hyötyläinen; Anna M. Nordenskjöld; Magnus Bäck; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Novel risk factors; coronary artery calcium; lipidomics; lipidome; psychosocial factors; vegetarian diet; gut microbiota; metabolome;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The aim of the research reported in this thesis was to determine the association of novel and traditional risk factors with coronary artery calcium (CAC), a marker of subclinical coronary artery disease (CAD) in healthy individuals. In addition, we investigated the effects of a vegetarian, compared to a meat diet, on novel and traditional risk factors in patients with diagnosed CAD. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Obesity and cardiovascular disease. Aspects of methods and susceptibility

    Författare :Susanna Calling; Kardiovaskulär forskning - epidemiologi; []

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study the morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in obese individuals, as measured by different obesity measurements, and to explore how the CVD risk related to obesity was modified by other biologic and socio-demographic circumstances. Data from two population-based cohort studies was used. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the major health issues of our time. The prevalence of CVD is increasing, both in industrialized and in developing countries, and causes suffering and a decreased quality of life for millions of people worldwide. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Epidemiological aspects of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality among individuals with diabetes: the relative importance of cardiovascular risk factors

    Författare :Aidin Rawshani; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diabetes mellitus; Cardiovascular medicine; Epidemiology; Observational studies; Heart failure; Cardiovascular disease; Mortality; Type 1 diabetes mellitus; Type 2 diabetes mellitus; Machine learning;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Long-term trends of cardiovascular complications and death among patients with diabetes have not been studied extensively. In addition, we aimed to examine the effect of multifactorial risk factor control, as well as optimal levels- and relative importance of cardiovascular risk factors, in patients with type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. 5. 10. Work-related cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Helena Eriksson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Occupational noise; shift work; job strain; seafarer; cardiovascular disease;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to study occupational risk factors for cardiovascular disease, particularly, occupational noise, job strain and shift work. Incidence of cardiovascular disease was analysed in a general population sample, the Primary Prevention Study, in relation to exposure to noise and job strain. LÄS MER
