21. Nanocelluloses - surface modification and use in functional materials
Sammanfattning : Cellulose nanocomposites offer interesting potential in terms of improved properties and new functionalities compared with microcomposites. Preparation from colloidal suspensions is promising, since high reinforcement content is possible and a wide range of constituents can be used. LÄS MER
22. Dyes and their adsorption onto nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes : Synthesis, characterisation and applications
Sammanfattning : The syntheses of two type of dyes (phthalocyanine and ruthenium tris-bipyridyl) are presented here. Their characterisation involves the use of cyclic voltammetry, NMR- and UV-visible spectroscopy. Once adsorbed on nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes, their electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical and photoelectrochemical properties were investigated. LÄS MER
23. Adsorption of molecular thin films on metal and metal oxide surfaces
Sammanfattning : Metal and metal oxides are widely used in industry, and to optimize their performance their surfaces are commonly functionalized by the formation of thin films. Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) are deposited on metals or metal oxides either from solution or by gas deposition. LÄS MER
24. Chemical modification of cellulose-new possibilities of some classical routes
Sammanfattning : Owning to its unique structure, along with the inexhaustible renewability, cellulose has been a subject of scientific and commercial interest for over 150 years. However, given attractive structural properties, such as stiffness, hydrophilicity, stereoregularity, potential for chemical modifications and ability to form superstructures, utilization of this biopolymer is far below its potential. 25. The Co-Structure Directing Agent (CSDA) Approach to Mesoporous Silica Formation – Exploring the Assembly Characteristics
Sammanfattning : We investigate the formation mechanism responsible for two specific systems of mesoporous silicas formed with the so-called co-structure directing agent (CSDA) route. The synthesis relies on the interactions between silica source (tetraethylorthosilicate, TEOS), surfactants and CSDA. LÄS MER
