11. A Quest for the Unseen : Surface Layer Formation on Li4Ti5O12 Li-Ion Battery Anodes
Sammanfattning : The electric vehicle itself today outlives its battery, necessitating battery replacement. Lithium titanium oxide (LTO) has, in this context, been suggested as a new anode material in heavy electric vehicle applications due to intrinsic properties regarding safety, lifetime and availability. 12. Abiotic and biotic methane dynamics in relation to the origin of life
Sammanfattning : Methane (CH4) plays an important role in regulating Earth’s climate. Its atmospheric concentrations are related to both biotic and abiotic processes. The biotic one can be formed either by chemoautotrophic or heterotrophic pathways by methanogens. LÄS MER
13. Polyolefin Flame Retardant Cable Materials - Effect of Additives and Copolymer Structure
Sammanfattning : Fire safety of cables is becoming increasingly important as the use of electrical equipment steadily increases. Due to their excellent dielectric properties, polyolefin materials are widely used as insulating materials for cables. However, polyolefins are inherently flammable and need to be protected to meet the requirements on flame retardancy. LÄS MER
14. Combustion dynamics and melt dripping of ethylene-acrylate copolyer composites
Sammanfattning : The degradation and combustion of blends of ethylene-acryalte copolymer with calcium carbonate and silicone were studied by a combination of flammability tests, in-situ measurements and analytical experiments. Compounds of poly(ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) blended with precipitated calcium carbonate nanoparticles were prepared. LÄS MER
15. Slag formation in fixed bed combustion of phosphorus-poor biomass
Sammanfattning : To handle a great demand for biomass, alternative biomasses beyond stem wood are being introduced into the solid fuel combustion market, fuels with generally higher (>0,5 wt-%) ash content and different fuel ash compositions compared to stem wood, such as forest residue, bark, grass and straw. Unfortunately, combustion of these alternative fuels often causes more ash related problems such as fouling, slagging and higher particle emissions compared to combustion of stem wood. LÄS MER
