1. Exploring Designs for a Process Prioritisation Method
Sammanfattning : Problem/Purpose: Process prioritisation is an ill-structured and complex problem that remains a mystery phase in business process management (BPM) research. More explorative approaches are called upon to tackle process management problems, to facilitate process innovation and to design new processes in dynamic environments. LÄS MER
2. On Turbulence Modelling for Bilge Vortices: A Test of Eight Models for Three Cases
Sammanfattning : This work is a test, in three steps, of turbulence models for the calculation of the flow field around ships. Eight models ranging from k-e and k-w models to a Reynolds-stress model (RSM) are tested. LÄS MER
3. Model Uncertainty in Fire Safety Engineering
Sammanfattning : Summary: Traditionally, fire safety has often been addressed with methods based on prescriptive recommendations. The opportunity to use an alternative analytical approach has led to the development of fire safety engineering, beginning with structural fire safety design in the 1960's and today including fire safety design and fire risk analysis in general. 4. Utilizing Biopolymers in 3D Tumor Modeling and Tumor Diagnosis
Sammanfattning : Cancer represents a significant global public health challenge and ranks as the second mostcommon cause of death in the United States. The onset of cancer entails an initial phasewhere cells lose their polarity and disconnect from the normal basement membrane, allowingthem to form distinct three-dimensional (3D) configurations that interact with adjacent cellsand the surrounding microenvironment. 5. Controlled Source Radiomagnetotelluric (CSRMT) Applications in Environmental and Resource Exploration
Sammanfattning : An integrated use of radio magnetotelluric (RMT) and controlled source tensor magnetotelluric (CSTMT) measurements, the so-called CSRMT method, has been employed in environmental and resource exploration studies. A number of case histories, including a groundwater investigation in glacial deposits, a study of fracture zones for geotechnical purposes and a mining exploration study of a copper deposit, are presented in this thesis in order to illustrate the usefulness and capability of the CSRMT method.
