  1. 36. Body Protein and its Change in Patients During Anti-Tumor Treatment

    Författare :Lianna Kadar; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cytology; Gastrointestinal tumors; Breast cancer; Lung cancer; Prognosis; Body protein; oncology; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to investigate how total body protein and its fraction of body weight (body protein fraction) change in cancer patients during different anti-tumor treatments, and to see if these changes have any clinical significance in the form of prognostic value or correlation with disease course and tumor response. In 84 patients, 28 with lung cancer, 24 with gastrointestinal tumors, 30 with breast cancer, 1 with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and 1 with kidney cancer, the total amount of body nitrogen was measured using an in vivo prompt gamma neutron activation technique. 2. 37. Creating access to cancer care : an exploration of patient-provider encounters in primary care, and sociodemographic factors

    Författare :Cecilia Hultstrand; Senada Hajdarevic; Anna-Britt Coe; Mikael Lilja; Kristina Bengtsson Boström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Access to care; patient-provider interaction; primary care; encounters; experiences; cancer; time to diagnosis; standardization; sociodemographic factors;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Access to care is widely discussed in both research and practice. However, previous research about access to care has mainly focused on individual behaviors of seeking care, and theories about access have mostly focused on quantifiable dimensions, such as supply and demand. 3. 38. Exercise in patients with cancer : Effects on health-related quality of life, costs, and cost-effectiveness during oncological treatment

    Författare :Anna-Karin Ax; Sussanne Börjeson; Birgitta Johansson; Karin Nordin; Yvonne Wengström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cancer; Exercise; Health-Related Quality of Life; Cost-Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Short and long-term side effects of oncological treatment negatively affect daily living and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patient with cancer. Exercise during treatment is beneficial for HRQoL, however evidence as to what exercise intensity is most optimal for improving HRQoL and cost-effectiveness is lacking. LÄS MER

  4. 39. Genetic characterization of malignant melanoma and breast cancer

    Författare :Göran B Jönsson; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; oncology; Cytology; microarray; inherited breast cancer; Melanoma; linkage analysis; cancer; Cytologi; cancerology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Malignant melanoma and breast cancer are common malignant diseases characterized by considerable heterogeneity with respect to genetics, histopathology, biology and clinical course. In breast cancer, two major susceptibility genes have been identified, BRCA1 and BRCA2, which account for a significant proportion of high-risk breast cancer families. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Mismatch repair deficiency in colorectal cancer : prognosis and prediction for basic treatment strategies

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; colorectal cancer; defective mismatch repair; prognosis and prediction; Oncology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a significant healthcare problem worldwide, being the third most common cancer and the fourth most frequent cause of cancer death. Environmental and dietary factors such as alcohol abuse, cigarette smoking, and genetic predisposition seem to constitute the main aetiologies. LÄS MER
