  1. 1. Studies of calcium binding proteins 1 and 2 and protein kinase CK2

    Författare :Inger Janson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; calcium binding protein 1; calcium binding protein 2; calcium binding protein 4; erd2receptor; protein kinase CK2; endoplasmic reticulum; Golgi; microsomes; heparin; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Medical and Physiological Chemistry; medicinsk och fysiologisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a major intracellular compartment of eukaryotic cells and is the site of the synthesis and post-translational modification of both secretory and membrane glycoproteins. Upon cell rupture vesicles of several kinds are formed from cell membranes, mainly derived from ER and are called microsomes. LÄS MER

  2. 2. EGF-like modules in blood coagulation proteins : Ca²+ binding, module interactions, structure and dynamics as studied by NMR spectroscopy

    Författare :Andreas Muranyi; Biofysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; residual dipolar couplings; protein S; factor VII; protein structure; calcium; blood coagulation; NMR spectroscopy; EGF modules; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Modules are independently folding protein domains defined on the gene level. The epidermal growth factor-like (EGF) modules are involved in protein-protein interactions and are found in numerous membrane proteins and extracellular proteins, including many proteins of the blood coagulation system. Sammanfattning : Protein S is a modular protein and a cofactor in the protein C anticoagulant system. It consists of a Gla-module, a thrombin-sensitive loop, four EGF-modules and a SHBG-like module. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The EGF-like Modules of Anticoagulant Protein S. Studies of Ca2+ binding and module interactions

    Författare :Yvonne Stenberg; Malmö Klinisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; enzymology; Proteins; Klinisk kemi; Clinical chemistry; calcium binding; Protein S; EGF-like module; Proteiner; enzymologi;

    Sammanfattning : Protein S functions as a cofactor to activated protein C (APC) in the degradation of factors Va and VIIIa. In plasma protein S circulates in two forms; 30-40 % circulates as free protein S molecules while the remaining 60-70 % exists in a 1:1 complex with C4b-binding protein (C4BP). Only the free form of protein S functions as a cofactor to APC. LÄS MER
