  1. 1. Optical Design for Stationary Solar Concentrators

    Författare :Johan Nilsson; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; photovoltaic cells; parabolic reflectors; optical efficiency; Solar concentrators; photovoltaic-thermal systems; non-imaging optics; optical properties; building integrated photovoltaics; non uniform irradiance distribution; structured reflectors; solar cell modelling; ray tracing;

    Sammanfattning : Solar electricity is one of the most promising technologies for our future electricity supply. By using concentrators, it is possible to reduce the cost of generating photovoltaic electricity. This thesis discusses how to design stationary low concentrating systems for photovoltaic or PV/Thermal applications. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Solar Variability Assessment and Grid Integration : Methodology Development and Case Studies

    Författare :David Lingfors; Joakim Widén; Uwe Zimmermann; Eva Wäckelgård; Tobias Boström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar variability; Photovoltaics; Grid integration; GIS; Distributed generation; Engineering Science; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : During the 21st century there has been a tremendous increase in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) capacity globally, due to falling prices and introduction of economic incentives. PV systems are in most cases small-scale, installed on residential dwellings, which means that the power production is widely distributed and close to the end-user of electricity. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Optical Efficiency of Low-Concentrating Solar Energy Systems with Parabolic Reflectors

    Författare :Maria Brogren; Arne Roos; Björn Karlsson; Andreas Häberle; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering physics; Photovoltaic cells; Photovoltaic-thermal systems; Parabolic reflectors; Optical properties; Reflector materials; Optical efficiency; Accelerated ageing; Outdoor ageing; Building-integrated photovoltaics; Teknisk fysik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Solar electricity is a promising energy technology for the future, and by using reflectors for concentrating solar radiation onto photovoltaic cells, the cost per produced kWh can be significantly reduced. The optical efficiency of a concentrating system determines the fraction of the incident energy that is transferred to the cells and depends on the optical properties of the system components. Sammanfattning : In the transition towards a sustainable energy system, building mounted solar photovoltaics (PV) have unique benefits; they require no additional land and the energy is generated directly at load centers. Within residential buildings, multi-family homes (MFH) are particularly interesting because of the economies of scale and their greater potential for emissions reductions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Chargeand Light Management in Organic Solar Cells

    Författare :Zheng Tang; Olle Inganäs; René Janssen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Solar cells based on organic materials are extensively investigated both in academia and industry, owing to their potential of being inexpensive, lightweight, flexible and suitable for roll-to-roll production. Performance of organic solar cells has been rapidly improving, and the state of the art organic solar cells have an efficiency over 10%. LÄS MER
