  1. 16. Experimental cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation : with special reference to cerebral eicosanoid production and free radical scavengers

    Författare :Xiaoli Liu; Marianne Forsman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Anaesthesiology and intensive care; cerebral resuscitation; reperfusion damage; oxidative injury; eicosanoid; free radical scavenger; neurological function; alkaline buffer; S-PBN; PBN; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anaesthetics and intensive care; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; Anestesiologi; Anaesthesiology;

    Sammanfattning : Reperfusion injury after restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) is often considered one of the predominant factors in determining neurological outcome in cardiac arrest. Therefore one of the main targets of experimental and clinical studies has been to mitigate this reperfusion injury. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Heterogeneous electron transfer studies with ligninolytic redox enzymes and living bacteria. Applications in biosensors and biofuel cells

    Författare :Vasile Coman; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cellobiose dehydrogenase; direct electron transfer; mediated electron transfer; self-assembled monolayer; flow injection analysis; amperometric biosensor; E. coli; succinate:quinone reductase; biofuel cell; B. subtilis; whole-cell biosensor;

    Sammanfattning : The catalytic properties and the inter-domain electron transfer of cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) from the ascomycete fungus Myriococcum thermophilum adsorbed on graphite and thiol (SAM) modified gold electrodes were investigated using cyclic voltammetry, flow injection amperometry and UV-Vis spectroelectrochemistry. The fabrication and characterisation of a noncompartmentalised, mediator and cofactor free glucose–oxygen biofuel cell well-operating in glucose-containing buffers and human blood serum was performed. 3. 18. Construction and Testing of the TileCal Digitizer and an Evaluation of the Discovery Potential for R-Hadrons at the ATLAS Detector at the LHC

    Författare :Magnus Ramstedt; Kerstin Jon-And; Leif Jönsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Elementary particle physics; Elementarpartikelfysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises two parts. In the first part an overview is given of the Standard Model, Supersymmetry and R-hadrons. R-hadrons are predicted within the framework of the Split-SUSY theory, in which the gluino can have a sufficiently long lifetime to hadronise into so-called R-hadrons. LÄS MER

  4. 19. A Measurement Based Performance Study of TCP over GSM/GPRS

    Författare :Annika Wennström (Klockar); Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datavetenskap; Computer Science;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the performance of the wireless Internet is studied with a focus on TCP over GSM/GPRS. To this end, we have developed a GSM/GPRS test bed for TCP measurements. We present measurements conducted in the test bed with TCP over both GSM and GPRS. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Ultra-low Voltage Embedded Memories – Design Aspects and a Biomedical Use-case

    Författare :Oskar Andersson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SRAM; CMOS; ultra-low voltage; ultra-low power; subthreshold; standard-cell based memories; atrial fibrillation; SRAM; CMOS; ultra-low voltage; ultra-low power; subthreshold; standard-cell based memories; atrial fibrillation;

    Sammanfattning : As the Internet of Things (IoT) era emerges the need for ultra-low power (ULP) devices is becoming more eminent. A research-proven approach to achieve ULP consumption is to aggressively lower the supply voltage (VDD) below or in the vicinity of the transistor threshold voltage (Vth) and operate the transistors in the subthreshold (sub-Vth) region.
