  1. 21. Insights into breast cancer: New familial patterns and identification of a potential predictive marker

    Författare :Carolina Ellberg; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; BRCA1; BRCA2; Spider telangiectasias; Heredity; Parental inheritance; Recessive; familial; Breast cancer;

    Sammanfattning : The last proportion of heredity in breast cancer has proven to be somewhat elusive despite massive attempts to identify the associated factors. Approximately 50 percent of breast cancer caused by familial factors is currently explained. LÄS MER

  2. 22. ANALYSIS OF NOVEL BIOMARKERS FOR UNFAVORABLE BREAST CANCER PROGNOSIS

    Författare :Emman Shubbar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ductal Carcinoma In Situ DCIS ; Primary invasive breast cancer; Biomarkers;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women, and a major cause of mortality and morbidity despite the advances in diagnosis and treatment. The main challenge remains to identify novel biomarkers in order to improve existing treatment modalities. Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is considered as a direct precursor of invasive breast cancer. LÄS MER

  3. 23. The Prognostic Impact of Proliferation Markers in Breast Cancer with Emphasis on Cyclin B1 and PPH3

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate the prognostic role of the proliferation markers cyclin B1 and Phosphorylated Histone 3 (PPH3) in breast cancer (BC).In paper I we used an experimental study design, we compared women dying early from their BC with women free from relapse more than eight years after initial diagnosis. Sammanfattning : Endocrine resistant breast cancer is a major therapeutical challenge and accurate selection of patients susceptible to certain types of anti-hormonal treatment strategies is pivotal. Discovery of novel biomarkers potentially predicting treatment response as well as the clinical course of breast cancer is essential to effectively improve therapies and diagnosis. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Support for women with breast cancer, and for the district and hospital nurses involved : an intervention study

    Författare :Maj-Britt Pålsson; Astrid Norberg; Ingalill Hallberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Intervention; support; organizational changes of the care; systematic clinical supervision; breast cancer patients; district nurses; hospital nurses; experiences; well-being ill-being; hopelessness; anxiety; depression; burnout; empathy; sense of coherence; the Karolinska scales of personality;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to investigate breast cancer patients’ experiences of their illness and of traditional nursing care (TNC) or supportive nursing care (SNC) respectively, as well as nurses' experiences of support and of caring for cancer patients. An intervention including extended co-operation between the surgical ward and primary health care, shorter waiting times, and changed routines concerning the information about the diagnosis, as well as training and systematic clinical supervision for the nurses, was implemented.
