  1. 11. Cost and financing of the sustainability transition of the Swedish road freight transport sector

    Författare :Elmira Parviziomran; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Godstransporter; Hållbar utveckling; Fossila bränslen; Fordon; Kostnader; Finansiering; Batterier; Sustainable development; Electric batteries; Vehicles; Freight and freightage; Fossil fuels; Sustainability transition; Decarbonization; Heavy-duty vehicles; Cost; Financing; Battery; Circular economy; Diesel fuels;

    Sammanfattning : The cost and financing of the road freight sector’s sustainability transition, driven by significant greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and cost considerations, represent an urgent yet underexplored research focus. This study investigates the costs of fleet replacement with zero-emission powertrains, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), emphasizing cost variables that have been overlooked in transition research. 2. 12. Combustion of selected alternative liquid fuels at oxy-fuel conditions: experiments and modelling

    Författare :Jenny D. Nauclér; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Alcohols; Nitromethane; Chemistry; Laminar burning velocity; Ignition; Combustion; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Nauclér;

    Sammanfattning : Combustion of fuels is a major source of energy and at the same time a threat to the environment. Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are one of the obstacles on the route to cleaner energy. Combining Carbon Capture and Storage-technology (CCS) with use of biofuels lead to a negative net release of CO2 can be achieved. LÄS MER

  3. 13. The effects of long chain alcohol blends on engine performance and spray characteristics in CI engines

    Författare :Josefine Preuss; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; spray characteristics; RME; drop-in bränslen; long chain alcohols; CI engine; HVO;

    Sammanfattning : Replacing fossil fuels with alternatives derived from renewable sources is one way of meeting society’s increasing need for mobility while also significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles with internal combustion engines. To facilitate such a replacement, this thesis presents optical spray studies and engine experiments conducted to evaluate the potential of blends of biomass-derived alcohols and vegetable oils to serve as drop-in fuels for compression ignition engines. Sammanfattning : The transport sector is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions.Replacing fossil fuels with renewable fuels can help reduce the impact oftransportation on the climate. LÄS MER

  5. 15. The anode and the electrolyte in the MCFC

    Författare :Andreas Bodén; Göran Lindbergh; Carina Lagergren; Takao Watanabe; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; composite electrolytes; electrode kinetics; nickel solubility; porous electrode; reformate; water-gas shift reaction; electrolyte; electrolyte distribution; hydrogen oxidation reaction; ion segregation; mass transport; mathematical modelling; MCFC; molten carbonate fuel cell; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : A goal of the Swedish government is to increase the usage of renewable fuels and biomass-based fuels. Fuel cells, and especially the MCFC, are useful for these types of fuels. The Swedish market may benefit from the MCFC in two ways: increased efficiency of the biofuels and also utilisation of produced heat in district heating. LÄS MER
