  1. 1. Att (åter)skapa "det normala" : Bröstoperationer och brännskador i plastikkirurgisk praktik

    Författare :Kerstin Sandell; Boel Berner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; plastic surgergy; breast reconstruction; breast reduction; burn injury; medicalization; inscription; gaze; apparatuses of production; modest witness; situated knowledge; normal; plastikkirurgi; psykologiska aspekter; bröstcancer; bröstkirurgi; brännskador; skönhetsideal; kirurgi; kropp; bröstet; medicinsk teknik; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : This PhD dissertation explores how the normal is made and remade in the medical practice of plastic surgery. The thesis also question what "the normal" is that is remade. The empirical field is breast reconstruction, breast reduction, and burn injuries. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Large-Scale Multi-Source Satellite Data for Wildfire Detection and Assessment Using Deep Learning

    Författare :Xikun Hu; Yifang Ban; Martin Wooster; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wildfire; Remote Sensing; Active Fire Detection; Burned Area Mapping; Burn Severity Assessment; Sentinel-2; Landsat; Sentinel-1; Deep Learning; Semantic Segmentation; Image Translation; Skogsbrand; fjärranalys; aktiv branddetektering; kartläggning av bränt område; bedömning av brännskador; Sentinel-2; Landsat; Sentinel-1; djupinlärning; semantisk segmentering; bildöversättning.; Geoinformatik; Geoinformatics;

    Sammanfattning : Earth Observation (EO) satellites have great potential in wildfire detection and assessment at fine spatial, temporal, and spectral resolutions. For a long time, satellite data have been employed to systematically monitor wildfire dynamics and assess wildfire impacts, including (i) to detect the location of actively burning spots, (ii) to map the spatial extent of the burn scars, (iii) to assess the wildfire damage levels. 3. 3. Studying the healing and long-term outcomes of two partial thickness wound models using different wound dressings

    Författare :Matilda Karlsson; Folke Sjöberg; Moustafa Elmasry; Pia Olofsson; Christina Lindholm; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Safe and effective wound dressing treatments are important for proper wound healing. Such procedures therefore need to be evidence-based regarding the most important outcome measures such as healing time, less discomfort for the patient, duration of hospital care and, importantly, less scarring. Sammanfattning : Background: The burden of burn injuries is in developing countries, the majority of deaths (98%) related to fire burns are in developing countries.These injuries are associated with poverty and are mainly related to accidents with fires in the home environment. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evaluation and Mitigation of Industrial Fire Hazards

    Författare :Petra Andersson; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknik; Technological sciences; Effect of fires; Accidental release; Water mist; Halon replacement; Industrial Fire Hazards; Human burns; Smoke detektion;

    Sammanfattning : A tool suitable for conducting industrial fire and explosion hazard analysis is presented, together with an identification of weak links in the hazard evaluation chain. For some of the weak links additional research has been carried out. LÄS MER
