1. Assessment and Comparison of Physical Fault Injection Techniques
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the problem of validating and estimating the effectiveness of error handling mechanisms in computer systems. The main contribution is an assessment of the effectiveness and usefulness of several physical fault injection techniques. LÄS MER
2. Modelling of ultrasonic scattering from a crack in a pipe
Sammanfattning : This thesis considers elastic wave scattering in an infinitely long cylindrical pipe with an infinitely long internal axial crack. The method used in this thesis is called a hypersingular integral equation method since it starts with an integral representation and by using the Green's tensor of the pipe it can be manipulated to a hypersingular equation for the crack-opening displacement (COD). 3. Dual-energy imaging in stroke : feasibility of dual-layer detector cone-beam computed tomography
Sammanfattning : Background: Dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) is increasingly available and used in the standard diagnostic setting of ischemic stroke patients. For stroke patients with suspected large vessel occlusion, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the interventional suite could be an alternative to CT to shorten door to thrombectomy time. LÄS MER
4. Anisotropic mechanical behaviors and microstructural evolution of thin-walled additively manufactured metals
Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is a concept and method of a manufacturing process that builds a three-dimensional object layer-by-layer. Opposite to the conventional subtractive manufacturing, it conquers various limitations on component design freedom and raises interest in various fields, including aerospace, automotive and medical applications. 5. Laser sintered materials with Non-equilibrium structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on achieving materials with non-equilibrium structures fabricated by high-energy laser sintering. The chosen precursor materials have rigid and inert structures like high-melting point ceramics or metals. LÄS MER
