  1. 1. Bone Healing after implantation of bone substitute materials. Experimental studies in estrogen deficiency

    Författare :Sven Öberg; Jan Rosenquist; Ulf Lekholm; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Bone grafts; hydroxyapatite; estrogen deficiency; demineralised bone; bone formation; AAA bone; bone defect; titanium implants; resonance frequency analysis.; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Bone formation and bone healing were studied in the mandible, tibia and skull bones in adult, healthy and estrogen deficient rabbits implanted with different bone substitutes.In the first study an evaluation of the differences in bone regeneration in and around solid (Alveograf *) and porous hydroxyapatite (Interpore 200*) was undertaken. 2. 2. Survival of onlay bone grafts. A study in the adult rat

    Författare :Monica Gordh; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; rats; polytetrafluoroethylene; artificial; membrane; immunohistochemistry; cortical perforations; bone morphogenetic protein; bone marrow; bone; bone grafts; Odontologi; stomatology; Odontology; skull; tibia;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study onlay bone grafting in the adult rat to improve graft incorporation and perservation of graft size. In 167 adult isogeneic lewis rats, the size maintenance and bone formation at the graft-host interface of uni- and bicortical onlays positioned in various environments and treatments were investigated. 3. 3. Aspects of maxillary sinus reconstruction with endosseous implants

    Författare :John Eric Blomqvist; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Odontologi; Odontology; stomatology; sinus inlay bone augmentation.; osteomorphometry; osteometry; maxillary sinus reconstruction; maxilla; bone graft; Alveolar bone loss; dental implants; implant position; bone;

    Sammanfattning : This study of maxillary sinus reconstruction in conjunction with insertion of endosseous implants included 99 patients. Two separate surgical methods were applied; a one-staged strategy (n=49) and a two-staged strategy (n=50). The aims were to compare two different strategies concerning implant and prosthetic construction survival. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Basic fibroblast growth factor for stimulation of bone formation in osteoinductive and conductive implants

    Författare :Jian-Sheng Wang; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Biofysik; Biophysics; bone ingrowth; titanium chamber; hyaluronic acid; porous hydroxyapatite; bone graft; bFGF; demineralized bone matrix; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (bFGF) is one of the endogenous factors found in bone matrix. bFGF is a mitogen for many cell types, including osteoblasts and chondrocytes. It can stimulate angiogenesis and osteoblast gene expression. LÄS MER
