41. On minimally invasive approaches to sinus lift procedures
Sammanfattning : Abstract Aims: The overall aim of the present thesis was to evaluate implant survival and bone regeneration after minimally invasive sinus lift procedures. Material and methods: In study I, 61 patients were prospectively evaluated 12 to 60 months after two different methods of locally bone harvesting methods adjacent to the maxillary sinus lift procedure. 42. On implant integration in irradiated bone : clinical and experimental studies
Sammanfattning : Radiation has an impact on the processes involved in bone- healing, regeneration and remodeling. The mechanisms that cause impaired bone healing of dental implants are not fully understood. Adjunctive treatments to revers radiation effects are limited. LÄS MER
43. Bone-compliant cements for vertebral augmentation
Sammanfattning : Acrylic bone cement based on poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is commonly used during vertebral augmentation procedures for the treatment of osteoporosis-induced vertebral compression fractures. However, the high stiffness of the cement compared to that of the surrounding trabecular bone is presumed to facilitate the formation of new fractures shortly after surgery. LÄS MER
44. On platelet-rich plasma in reconstructive dental implant surgery
Sammanfattning : Abstract Background Severe athrophy of the edentulous maxilla may require augmentation before implants can be placed. Autogenous bone has been used for reconstruction in block or in particulated form. LÄS MER
45. Hyaluronan Derivatives and Injectable Gels for Tissue Engineering
Sammanfattning : The present work describes the preparation of hyaluronan derivatives and hydrogels with potential use in tissue engineering applications. A potentially injectable hydrogel consisting of hyaluronan and collagen was successfully used to grow neurons in vitro by encapsulation of neural stem and progenitor cells. LÄS MER
