    Sammanfattning : Background: Dyspnea, a subjective, multidimensional experience of breathing discomfort commonly occurring in patients with incurable lung cancer, influences all aspects of life in the suffering per¬sons. To optimally enhance quality of life (QoL) and to identify persons most vulnerable to this symptom, it is important to investigate how to assess dyspnea, how other symptoms and coping are related to dyspnea, and what the consequences of dyspnea are, especially on QoL.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to illuminate and question the school subject Sloyd from the perspective of the former pupils, now adult persons The empirical investigations cover interviews with subject teachers and adult, focusing their memories of the Sloyd subject in the compulsory school. The analysis shows that the impression of the qualities of the subject is connected to the pupil's personal and bodily experience of the work process in textile, wood or metal material. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis is to theoretically explore and empirically analyse practical embodied knowledge in educational settings. In accordance to this aim an approach of body pedagogics is used in combination with classical pragmatism, using foremost William James’ and John Dewey’s concepts of experience, meaning, inquiry and habit.
