6. Solid-State Nanopores for Sensing : From Theory to Applications
Sammanfattning : Nanopore based sensing technology has been widely studied for a broad range of applications including DNA sequencing, protein profiling, metabolite molecules, and ions detection. The nanopore technology offers an unprecedented technological solution to meeting the demands of precision medicine on rapid, in-field, and low-cost biomolecule analysis. LÄS MER
7. Data-driven approaches for proactive maintenance planning of sewer blockage management
Sammanfattning : Blockages have been reported to account for a significant proportion of reported failures in sewer networks. The malfunctioning of the sewer network from blockages and the subsequent disruption to other public services and flooding may constitute a risk to the environment and human health. LÄS MER
8. Ethanol-mediated effects on astroglial cells in primary culture. With a focus on acute changes in intracellular Ca2+, cell volume, actin filaments, and gap junction coupling
Sammanfattning : The astroglial cells are abundant in the central nervous system (CNS), where they control and regulate the homeostasis of the extracellular milieu. A change in astroglial cell volume, mediated through activation of neuroactive substances or changes in osmolarity, leads to changes in the size and geometry of the extracellular space volume, which could affect the diffusion and concentration of neuroactive substances. 9. Numerical Analysis of Partial Admission in Axial Turbines
Sammanfattning : HTML clipboard Numerical analysis of partial admission in axial turbines is performed in this work. Geometrical details of an existing two stage turbine facility with low reaction blades is used for this purpose. For validation of the numerical results, experimental measurements of one partial admission configuration at design point was used. LÄS MER
10. The Role of Angiotensin II in Experimental Acute Kidney Injury and Cardiorenal Failure
Sammanfattning : Blood pressure and fluid regulation are kept constant through the interaction between heart and kidneys. When the systemic blood pressure decreases, the levels of the hormone Angiotensin II increase, leading to vasoconstriction and therefore increased blood pressure. LÄS MER
