  1. 11. Decision support for complex planning challenges - Combining expert systems, engineering-oriented modeling, machine learning, information theory, and optimization technology

    Författare :Larry M. Deschaine; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; optimization; energy; model mixing; analytic hierarchy processes; data modelling engineering-oriented modelling; environmental; and MEC; UXO; model blending; Decision analysis; machine learning;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis develops an approach for addressing complex industrial planning challenges. The approach provides advice to select and blend modeling techniques that produce implementable optimal solutions. Industrial applications demonstrate its effectiveness. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Les métaphores de guerre dans la prose journalistique du français

    Författare :Charlotte Dilks; Inge Bartning; Michelle Noailly; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; French; metaphor; conventional metaphor; cognitive linguistics; cognitive semantics; conceptual blending; text linguistics; interpretative semantics; verbs; semantic roles; agentivity; journalistic prose; French language; Franska språket; French; franska;

    Sammanfattning : This study explores the use of war metaphors, more specifically metaphors centred on the verb, in modern French newspaper prose from three principal angles.  The first part of the analysis shows that the verbs of war used are metaphorical rather than concrete. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Co-disposal of waste rock and lignite fly ash to mitigate the environmental impact of coal mining

    Författare :Asif Qureshi; Björn Öhlander; Christian Maurice; Thomas Pabst; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acid mine drainage AMD ; coal mine waste rocks; coal fly ash; co-disposal; mixing blending; dry-cover; prevention neutralisation; Tillämpad geokemi; Applied Geochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Waste rocks (WRs) from coal mining and fly ash (FA) from coal combustion were studied to determine the potential of the WRs to generate AMD, FAs to neutralise it and estimate their impacts on environment. The ultimate goal was to develop a methodology based on co-disposal to mitigate the environmental problems associated to both wastes. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Functional Properties and Morphology of Recycled Post-consumer WEEE Thermoplastic Blends

    Författare :Erik Stenvall; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; morphology; melt-blending; compatibilisation; extrusion; SEBS; WEEE; physical ageing; TOF-SIMS; co-continuous; chemical degradation; plastics recycling;

    Sammanfattning : This work concerns a waste electrical and electronic equipment blend of recycled plastics (WEEEBR), reprocessed from a low density thermoplastics batch (600 kg) by removal of non-thermoplastic contamination (1.2 weight % (wt%)). LÄS MER

  5. 15. Mechanical and thermal properties of recycled WEEE plastic blends

    Författare :Sandra Tostar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SEBS; HIPS; extrusion; WEEE; WEEEBR; melt-blending; plastics recycling; gamma irradiation; PP; ABS; compatibilization; polymer degradation;

    Sammanfattning : Electronic waste is the fastest growing waste stream today, and the recycling of the plastics from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has attracted great attention recently for environmental reasons and to comply with the European Union’s (EUs) WEEE Directive. The plastics fraction in WEEE is between 20 and 35 weight % (wt%). LÄS MER
