    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; soft soil; clay; silt; silty sand; soil stabilisation; hydraulic binder; cement; lime; by-product; cement kiln dust CKD ; cold climate; frost; freeze-thaw; laboratory test; field test; subsoil; road construction; feinkörninge Böden; Ton; Schluff; schluffiger Sand; Bodenstabilisierung; hydraulische Bindemittel; Zement; Kalk; Nebenprodukt; Zementofenstaub; kaltes Klima; Frost; Frost-Tau; Laborversuche; Feldversuche; Verkehrsbau; Dauerhaftigkeit; finkornig jord; lera; silt; siltig sand; jordstabilisering; hydraulisk bindemedel; cement; kalk; biprodukt; cement kiln dust CKD ; kallt klimat; frost; frysning-tining; laboratorieanalyser; fältförsök; vägterrass; Geoteknik; Soil Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis deals with the stabilization of fine-grained soils using by-product originated hydraulic binders. The use of fine-grained soils as subsoil for infrastructure projects is often limited because of the risk for instability. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Free loop spaces, Koszul duality and A-infinity algebras

    Författare :Kaj Börjeson; Alexander Berglund; Pascal Lambrechts; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Koszul duality; free loop spaces; a-infinity algebras; BV-algebras; string topology; Mathematics; matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers on the topics of free loop spaces, Koszul duality and A∞-algebras. In Paper I we consider a definition of differential operators for noncommutative algebras. This definition is inspired by the connections between differential operators of commutative algebras, L∞-algebras and BV-algebras. LÄS MER

  3. 3. From Facets to Flow: The Electrooxidation of Glycerol on Pd-based catalysts

    Författare :Jai White; Ann M. Cornell; Gunnar Henriksson; Carina Lagergren; Elena Baranova; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; glycerol; electrooxidation; palladium; nickel; alkaline; HPLC; RDE; glycerol; elektrooxidation; palladium; nickel; alkalisk; HPLC; RDE; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Glycerol, a by-product of biodiesel refineries, has uses in industries such as cosmetics, food, and pharmaceuticals. However, its usage is small compared to the amount of glycerol produced from biodiesel production. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Photosynthetic water oxidation : the function of two extrinsic proteins

    Författare :Tatiana Shutova; Göran Samuelsson; Stenbjörn Styring; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photosystem II; Psb0; Cah3; water oxidation; Plant physiology; Växtfysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The solar energy accumulated by photosynthesis over billions of years is the sole source of energy available on Earth. Photosystem II (PSII) uses the sunlight to split water, an energetically unfavorable reaction where electrons and protons are extracted from water and oxygen is released as a by-product. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fermentation and Cultivation Technology for Improved Ethanol Production from Lignocellulose

    Författare :Andreas Rudolf; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Chemical technology and engineering; Fermentation; Lignocellulose; Hydrolysis; Bioethanol;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis has been aiming at improving ethanol production from lignocellulose. Ethanol from renewable resources is receiving renewed attention due to apprehensions of global warming and dwindling oil reserves. Lignocellulose constitutes a potential raw material source for large scale ethanol production. LÄS MER
