21. Comparison of stereotactic fine needle aspiration biopsy and core needle biopsy in breast lesions
Sammanfattning : Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of two biopsy methods by comparing stereotactic fine needle aspiration biopsy (S-FNAB) with stereotactic core needle biopsy (S-CNB). The biopsies were performed by the same radiologist, in the same breast lesion on the same occasion, in order to establish which method that best can be recommended in different kind of mammographically detected lesions. 23. Flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy : studies on methods for the diagnosis of carcinoma of the lung, bronchial mucosal damage and haemodynamic effects
Sammanfattning : The diagnostic accuracy attained with the use of transbronchial fine needle aspiration biopsy, aspiration of bronchial secretion, bronchial washing, brush biopsy and forceps biopsy via a flexible fiberoptic bronchoscope was compared in patients with carcinoma of the lung. In endoscopic visible tumours the sensitivity of forceps biopsy was higher than that of the other methods. LÄS MER
24. Outcomes and complications in surgical and urological procedures
Sammanfattning : Background:Minor procedures in surgery and urology such as groin hernia and hydrocele repair, as well as prostate biopsies are very frequently done in routine practice. Complications and insufficient outcomes thus affecting many patients and the cumulative effect of this are of major importance in a population perspective. LÄS MER
25. Ultrasensitive DNA sequencing using liquid biopsies enables precision medicine
Sammanfattning : Liquid biopsies are minimally invasive and allow repetitive sampling of body fluids. Analysis of cell-free tumor DNA in liquid biopsies can be used as a biomarker for cancer. However, in most clinically relevant liquid biopsies, cell-free DNA is present at low concentrations, contains minute tumor allele frequencies, and is highly fragmented. LÄS MER
