  1. 21. Modelling the evolution of treatment-induced resistance in Ph+ leukaemias

    Författare :Jonathan Lindström; Ran Friedman; Arne Traulsen; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic myeloid leukaemia; Stochastic modelling; Tyrosine kinase inhibitor; Drug resistance; Clonal evolution; Biomedical Sciences; Biomedicinsk vetenskap; Medicinsk kemi; Medical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Targeted therapies are a mainstay of modern cancer treatments. Rather than harming rapidly dividing cells in general, targeted therapies work by directly interfering with oncogenic molecular pathways present in a tumour. Consequently, a targeted therapy typically has less severe side effects. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Workload characterization, controller design and performance evaluation for cloud capacity autoscaling

    Författare :Ahmed Ali-Eldin Hassan; Erik Elmroth; Johan Tordsson; Prashant Shenoy; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cloud computing; autoscaling; workloads; performance modeling; controller design;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies cloud capacity auto-scaling, or how to provision and release re-sources to a service running in the cloud based on its actual demand using an auto-matic controller. As the performance of server systems depends on the system design,the system implementation, and the workloads the system is subjected to, we focuson these aspects with respect to designing auto-scaling algorithms. 3. 23. Reconfigurable Receiver Front-Ends for Advanced Telecommunication Technologies

    Författare :Iman Ghotbi; Integrerade elektroniksystem; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; 5G; Receiver; Filter; Low-noise amplifier; FD-SOI; Calibration;

    Sammanfattning : The exponential growth of converging technologies, including augmented reality, autonomous vehicles, machine-to-machine and machine-to-human interactions, biomedical and environmental sensory systems, and artificial intelligence, is driving the need for robust infrastructural systems capable of handling vast data volumes between end users and service providers. This demand has prompted a significant evolution in wireless communication, with 5G and subsequent generations requiring exponentially improved spectral and energy efficiency compared to their predecessors. 4. 24. Cold-Electron Bolometers fabricated with Direct Write Technology for Microwave Receiver systems

    Författare :Ernst Otto; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the development of microwave detector technology for cosmology instruments and THz imaging, including fabrication of SIN tunnel junctions for thermometry and bolometric detectors, and also phase switch circuits as a part of integrated microwave receiver systems. Cold-Electron Bolometers (CEB) based on Superconductor-Insulator-Normal metal (SIN) tunnel junctions have been developed for employment in sub-millimeter astronomical receivers. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Software Solutions for Nuclear Imaging Systems in Cardiology, Small Animal Research and Education

    Författare :Iván Valastyán; Andras Kerek; Michael Ljungberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medical technology; Medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : The sensitivity for observing physiological processes makes nuclear imaging an important tool in medical diagnostics. Different types of nuclear imaging modalities, with emphasis on the software components and image reconstructions, are presented in this thesis:  the Cardiotom for myocardial heart studies at the Karolinska University Hospital, the small animal Positron Emission Tomograph (PET) scanners for research and the SPECT, PET, spiral CT and Cardiotom demonstrators for the Royal Institute of Technology medical imaging laboratory.
