  1. 6. Integrated biomechanical, electronic and topographic characterization of titanium dental implants

    Författare :Johanna Löberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface roughness parameters; 3D-SEM; AFM; Interfacial shear strength; Impedance spectroscopy; Cyclic voltammetry; SBF; MG-63; TiO2-nanoparticles;

    Sammanfattning : Titanium dental implants are medical devices used to restore the function entailed with the loss of one or several teeth. To obtain successful function over long periods, the dental implants must be sufficiently anchored in the bone to withstand the forces induced by for example chewing. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Computational modeling of mechanobiology in intact and healing rat Achilles tendon

    Författare :Thomas Notermans; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Collagen; Finite element model; Mechano-regulation; Mechanical Properties; Strain; Oxygen; Viscoelasticity;

    Sammanfattning : Tendons fulfill an important musculoskeletal function by enabling energy-efficient force transmission between muscles and bones. The tendon is a collagen-rich connective tissue that adapts to mechanical loading through mechanobiological processes. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Characterising Dental Implant Surfaces by Topographical, Electrochemical, and Biomechanical Methods

    Författare :Johanna Löberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Titanium dental implants; 3D-SEM; AFM; Mott-Schottky analysis; surface roughness parameters; biomechanics.;

    Sammanfattning : Replacement of extracted teeth by dental implants was first introduced in the 1950’s. From the beginning, threaded titanium implants with smooth surfaces were used. Later on, screw shaped implants with micro-scaled roughened surfaces were introduced showing bone ingrowth and improved in vivo and in vitro results and good long term stability. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Static and Dynamic Load Response of the Lumbar Spine in Flexion

    Författare :Anna-Lisa Osvalder; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biomechanical response; flexion-distraction injuries; injury; ; experimental methods; spinal segments;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this study were to develop experimental methods for static and dynamic loading of spinal segments in vitro that would simulate flexion-distraction injuries (lap seat-belt injuries) and increase knowledge about the biomechanical response and the mechanisms of injury of the lumbar spine under static and dynamic (transient) loads in flexion. The experiments were carried out on the lumbar functional spinal unit (FSU) consisting of two adjacent vertebrae, the intervertebral disc and all intervening ligaments. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Biomechanical and Clinical Aspects on Fixation Techniques in the Cervical Spine

    Författare :Thomas Henriques; Claes Olerud; Sune Larsson; Dieter Grob; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Biomechanics; Atlanto-axial fusion; Distractive flexion injuries; cervical spine; adjacent level motion; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The present work is analyzing the general biomechanical aspects of fixation techniques in the upper and lower cervical spine along with clinical implications.The in vitro biomechanical properties of five different posterior atlanto-axial fixation techniques are compared. LÄS MER
