  1. 11. Development and Application of Enzyme- and Antibody-based Assays with Emphasis on Selectivity, Sensitivity and Stability

    Författare :Catalin Nistor; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stability; sensitivity; selectivity; cross-reactivity; sample matrix effects; environmental pollutants; enzyme biosensor; immunoassay; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the development, optimisation, and various applications of enzyme-based biosensors and immunoassays, mainly with relevance to environmental analysis. the thesis discusses problems and possible solutions associated with selectivity, sensitivity and robustness of such bioassays with emphasis on various immunoasssay configurations for determination of surfactants, phenols, or drugs, and amperometric biosensors based on enzymes (e. 2. 12. Microfluidic biosensing systems based on enzymes, antibodies and cells

    Författare :Richard Davidsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; chemiluminescence; immobilization; cell; antibody; enzyme; miniaturization; Microfluidic; microchip;

    Sammanfattning : The rapid developments within the life science and biotechnology areas put up ever-new demands on more sophisticated techniques and methods for chemical and biological analysis to reach deeper insight into the events at molecular level. Miniaturisation of assays and systems on microchips is one way to increase throughput and advance through parallel analysis lines, multiplexing and integration. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Asymmetrical Flow Field-Flow Fractionation in the Application to Biological Macromolecules

    Författare :Cecilia Arfvidsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; biotechnology; recombinant protein production; molecular weight; Escherichia coli; ribosomes; glutenin; asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation; multiangle light scattering;

    Sammanfattning : Asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (AsFlFFF) is especially useful in the application to biological macromolecules due to the absence of a stationary phase in the separation channel. As a result no upper exclusion limit occurs and low shear forces affect the sample components. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Model Systems for Metal - DNA Interactions. With a Focus on Anticancer Active Platinum(II) Complexes

    Författare :Anna Ericson; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; kinetics; DNA; poly d T ; guanine; 6-thioinosine-5 -monophosphate; 6-thio-2 -deoxyinosine; 4-thiouridine-5 -monophosphate; 4-thio-2 -deoxyuridine; palladium II ; Gold III ; platinum II ; mechanism; salt effect; activation parameters; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Reactions of trans-dicyanodichloroaurate(III) trans-dibromodicyanoaurate(III), trans-diamminedichlorogold(III), cis-diammine(aqua)chloroplatinum(II), cis-ammineaqua-(cyclohexylamine)chloroplatinum(II), chloro(terpyridine)platinum(II) and chloro-(diethylenetriaminepalldium(II) with dimethyl sulfide, thionucleosides, thionucleotides and thione- and guanine-containing 17-mer oligonucleotides have been investigated by use of conventional and high-pressure stopped-flow spectrophotometry and HPLC technique as a function of ionic strength, pH, temperature and pressure in aqueous solutions. The mechanism and rate of oxidation of dimethyl sulfide by gold(III) complexes depends on the concentration of free halide. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Structure and Phase Stability of Polyelectrolyte-Macroion Solutions

    Författare :Marie Skepö; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; hydrophobicity; spatially distributed interaction sites; protein-polymer interaction; Monte Carlo Simulations; redissolution; phase separation; cluster; complex; Polyelectrolytes; macroions;

    Sammanfattning : Polyelectrolytes are polymers bearing ionisable groups, which, in polar solvents, can dissociate into charged polymer chains (polyelectrolytes) and small counterions. In aqueous solutions, polyelectrolytes interact strongly with other macroions and in particular they tend to associate with objects of opposite charge and form complexes. LÄS MER
