  1. 1. Improved Neuropeptide Identification : Bioinformatics and Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Maria Fälth Savitski; Per Andrén; David Fenyö; Per Svenningsson; Ronald Beavis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bioinformatics; neuropepides; database; peptide identification; peptide fragmentation; mass spectrometry; tandem mass spectromerty; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Bioinformatic methods were developed for improved identification of endogenous peptides using mass spectrometry. As a framework for these methods, a database for endogenous peptides, SwePep, was created. It was designed for storing information about endogenous peptides including tandem mass spectra. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A Study in RNA Bioinformatics : Identification, Prediction and Analysis

    Författare :Eva Freyhult; David Ardell; Robert Giegerich; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; RNA; bioinformatics; secondary structure; structure prediction; dynamic programming; energy landscape; homology search; sequence logo; tRNA; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Research in the last few decades has revealed the great capacity of the RNA molecule. RNA, which previously was assumed to play a main role only as an intermediate in the translation of genes to proteins, is today known to play many important roles in the cell in addition to that as a messenger RNA and transfer RNA, including the ability to catalyze reactions and gene regulations at various levels. 3. 3. A Bioinformatics Study of Human Transcriptional Regulation

    Författare :Adam Ameur; Jan Komorowski; Claes Wadelius; Philipp Bucher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bioinformatics; microarray; ChIP-chip; ChIP-seq; transcription factor; histone modification; motif search; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Regulation of transcription is a central mechanism in all living cells that now can be investigated with high-throughput technologies. Data produced from such experiments give new insights to how transcription factors (TFs) coordinate the gene transcription and thereby regulate the amounts of proteins produced. LÄS MER
