16. Therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles
Sammanfattning : Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanometer-sized, lipid membrane enclosed, vesicles that are secreted by most, if not all, cells and contain macromolecular material of the source cell including lipids, proteins and various nucleic acid species. Over the last two decades, EVs have been recognized as important mediators of cell-to-cell communication that influence both physiological and pathological conditions. LÄS MER
17. Targeting Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptors with Drug Conjugates Based on Affibody Molecules
Sammanfattning : Cancer is a major public health challenge and the second leading cause of death in the world, with millions of new cases being diagnosed each year. Traditional cancer treatments such as surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy are many times effective, but may also cause damage to healthy cells, leading to side effects. LÄS MER
18. Radiolabeling and Biotinylation of Internalizing Monoclonal Antibody Chimeric BR96: Potential Use for Extracorporeal Immunoadsorption
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, methodology of radiolabeling and simultaneous biotinylation for internalizing monoclonal antibody (MAb) chimeric BR96 (chiBR96) have been investigated by using three element groups of potential therapeutic radionuclides iodine, indium and rhenium, and their different labeling methods. The biodistribution and kinetics of biotinylated and radiolabeled chiBR96 have been studied in colon carcinoma isografted rats. LÄS MER
19. Precision medicine and targeted therapy : Turning the tables on cancer
Sammanfattning : An extended understanding of the molecular characteristics of cancer has led to a revolution within the field of precision medicine. This thesis explores the utilization of two targets for precision medicine, namely, CD44v6 and murine double-minute 2 and X (MDM2/X). LÄS MER
20. Molecular Radionuclide Imaging Using Site-specifically Labelled Recombinant Affibody Molecules : Preparation and Preclinical Evaluation
Sammanfattning : Radionuclide molecular imaging is an emerging multidisciplinary technique that is used in modern medicine to visualise diseases at cellular and molecular levels. This thesis is based on five papers (I-V) and focuses on the development of site-specific radiolabelled recombinant anti-HER2 Affibody molecules and preclinical evaluations in vitro and in vivo of the labelled conjugates.
