  1. 1. On Phase Behaviours in Lipid/Polymer/Solvent/Water Systems and their Application for Formation of Lipid/Polymer Composite Particles

    Författare :Anna Imberg; Per Hansson; Krister Thuresson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; Biodegradable; CLSM; Composite Particles; Controlled Release; Cubic Phases; Drug Delivery; Flory-Huggins Theory; FT-PGSE-NMR; IPMS; Liquid Phase; Lipid Domains; Liquid Handler; Microspheres; Microstructure; Phase Behaviour; Phase Separation; Polymer Matrix; SAXS; Segregation; Sponge Phase; Swelling; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; fysikalisk och oorganisk farmaceutisk kemi; Physical and Inorganic Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : A new kind of lipid/polymer composite particle, consisting of a biodegradable polymer matrix with well-defined lipid domains, has been created. The lipid used is the water-swelling lipid monoolein (MO), which forms a reversed bicontinuous cubic diamond structure in aqueous solutions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Lipid bilayers versus monolayers- Sponge phases and skin lipid domains

    Författare :Katarina Ekelund; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fatty acids; Langmuir-Blodgett films; AFM; domains; stratum corneum; bilayer curvature; lipids; glycerol monooleate; phase behaviour; sponge phase; L3 phase; Livsmedelsteknik; cholesterol; Food and drink technology;

    Sammanfattning : The L3, or sponge, phase is a thermodynamically stable isotropic liquid consisting of a surfactant membrane in aqueous solution. A solvent induced L3 phase is shown in systems of solvent, monoolein and water. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Lipid sponge phase nanostructures as carriers for enzymes

    Författare :Maria Valldeperas Badell; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sponge phase; lipid liquid crystals; DGMO; GMO-50; polysorbate 80; encapsulation of proteins; Aspartic protease; β-galactosidase; X-ray and neutron scattering; Raman spectroscopy; adsorption; cryo-TEM;

    Sammanfattning : Nonlamellar lipid liquid crystalline phases have many potential applications, such as for drug delivery, protein encapsulation or crystallization. Lipid liquid crystalline sponge phase (L3) has so far not been very much considered in these applications, in spite of apparent advantages in terms of its flexibility and capacity of forming large aqueous pores able to encapsulate large bioactive molecules. 4. 4. PEG and lipids in solid dispersions and liquid crystals - structure and phase behaviour

    Författare :Johan Unga; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bicontinuous sponge phase; polyethylene glycol; monoolein; bicontinuous cubic phase; lipids; differential scanning calorimetry; phytantriol; small angle X-ray diffraction; solid dispersions;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, two different kinds of nano-structured systems have been studied; solid dispersion systems of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and liquid crystalline systems containing the polar lipids monoolein (MO) and phytantriol (PT). Solid dispersions of PEG were studied with addition of different substances, lipids or parabens. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Lipid based formulations for topical application: characterization and delivery of active substances

    Författare :Johanna Bender; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; bicontinuous cubic phase; phytantriol; passive diffusion; bicontinuous sponge phase; stratum corneum; W O microemulsion; monoolein; medium chain triglycerides;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the interaction between lipids, solvents and active substances in lipid based formulations have been studied and related to formulation structure or release behavior on human skin or a model thereof. For the different investigations, isotropic equilibrium lipid phases, i.e. LÄS MER
