  1. 16. In-situ monitoring of laser powder bed fusion applied to defect detection

    Författare :Claudia de Andrade Schwerz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; defect detection; productivity; nickel-based superalloy; process monitoring; pores; powder bed fusion; spatter; defect mitigation; mechanical properties; lack of fusion; melt pool; Additive manufacturing;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing technologies, particularly laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), have received much attention recently due to their numerous advantages over conventional manufacturing methods. However, the use of LPBF is still quite restricted, mainly due to two factors: its typically low productivity, which makes the technology less competitive in applications with moderate to high production volumes, and its limited reliability, particularly relevant for applications where high performance is required from the materials. 2. 17. Powder Bed Fusion – Laser Beam of Mg alloy WE43 : Establishing the process – structure – properties relationship

    Författare :Hanna Nilsson Åhman; Cecilia Persson; Francesco D'Elia; Pelle Mellin; Eduard Hryha; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Powder bed fusion - laser beam; additive manufacturing; magnesium; WE43; microstructure; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot materialvetenskap; Engineering Science with specialization in Materials Science;

    Sammanfattning : Powder bed fusion - laser beam (PBF-LB) of Mg alloy WE43 (Mg-4wt%Y-3wt%RE-Zr) has great potential for the development of future biodegradable metal implants, as well as aerospace lightweight materials. However, the work published thus far has mainly focused on obtaining a fully dense material, and the understanding of the relationship among the PBF-LB process parameters, structure and the resulting material properties remains limited. Sammanfattning : In the recent decade, powder bed fusion (PBF) metal additive manufacturing (AM) has attracted huge attention both from the industry and the research community. This effort has helped mature PBF technology as a potential alternative to conventional manufacturing processes as casting, machining, forging, etc. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Modelling of laser-based powder bed fusion for bulk metallic glass formation

    Författare :Johan Lindwall; Andreas Lundbäck; Albert To; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material Mechanics; Materialmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis aims to develop a modelling approach to predict crystalline phase evolution in bulk metallic glass during additive manufacturing with laser-based powder bed fusion (PBF-LB). Metallic glasses are non-crystalline metallic materials that generally possess exceptional properties because of its amorphous struc-ture. LÄS MER
