11. Powder degradation during powder bed fusion processing
Sammanfattning : Powder bed fusion (PBF) techniques, including laser-based powder bed fusion (LB-PBF) and electron beam powder bed fusion (EB-PBF), are two rapidly growing additive manufacturing (AM) processes due to their ability to produce complex geometries in near-net shapes. To attain reproducibility and repeatability in PBF processes, a consistent set of powder properties is vital. LÄS MER
12. Fluidized bed combustion and gasification for phosphorus recovery by co-conversion of sewage sludge with biomass
Sammanfattning : In recent years, the thermal conversion of sewage sludge has proven its applicability for managing this inevitably generated waste. The viability arises from the concomitant features of recovering energy or valuable compounds, the breakdown of potentially harmful organic compounds, the separation or immobilization of heavy metals, and the formation of volume-reduced, sanitized residues. 13. Spectral analysis in laser powder bed fusion
Sammanfattning : This thesis is about the investigation of the spectral interaction of electromagnetic radiation with metal powders. For this purpose, spectral data of powders for laser powder bed fusion processes are investigated in three papers using different techniques. LÄS MER
14. Modelling of Bulk Metallic Glass formation in Powder Bed Fusion
Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses a model for simulation of the Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) process of metallic powder with the capability to become amorphous. The temperature field in the PBF process is predicted by a three-dimensional thermal finite element model in three dimensions using a layer-by-layer approach, meaning that the scanning strategy of the moving laser spot is consolidated into a single heat source acting on the entire layer momentarily. 15. Aspects of building geometry and powder characteristics in powder bed fusion
Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) produces near-net-shaped parts directly from a 3D-CAD model in a layer-by-layer manner. One of the most common AM technique for fabricating metallic components is powder bed fusion (PBF). The PBF process has shown great potential in fabricating metallic parts with properties better or comparable to conventional methods. LÄS MER
