  1. 6. Prognostic signficance of tumor cell markers in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with special emphasis on lymphoma localization

    Författare :Maysaa Abdulla; Rose-Marie Amini; Gunilla Enblad; Wolfram Klapper; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of high-grade B-cell lymphoma with different clinical, morphological, immunophenotypical, and molecular features. DLBCL is curable in 60-70% of patients when treated with standard immunochemotherapy R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone). LÄS MER

  2. 7. Hematolymphoproliferative malignancies : the impact of lifestyle, organ transplantation and genetic susceptibility

    Författare :Pia Fernberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : During the past decades Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) has demonstrated an immense increase in incidence globally, among almost all age and race groups as well as in both genders. In the search for causes, none of the known risk factors can alone or together entirely explain this trend. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Roles of hematopoietin and cytokine tyrosine kinase receptors in early lymphopoiesis

    Författare :Christina Jensen; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IL -7; FLT3 Ligand; cytokines; lymphopoiesis; hematopoiesis; TSLP; apoptosis;

    Sammanfattning : Cytokines have been shown to have important roles in lymphopoiesis. However, many questions remain unresolved. Among other, while the action of interleukin (IL)-7 in alpha beta T cell development in mouse seems to be largely mediated through permissive survival signaling, the possible permissive role of IL-7 in early B cell development is disputed. 4. 9. Novel markers for smooth muscle cell modulation in vascular injury and disease

    Författare :Urszula Rykaczewska; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) are major constituents of the vascular wall, indispensable for basic physiological functions of a healthy vessel, such as regulating vascular tone and blood pressure, but also critical during disease development. With remarkable plasticity, SMCs act as early responders to vessel wall injury, where by activating molecular mechanisms, including phenotypic modulation and transdifferentiation, they counteract detrimental stimuli and aim to restore vascular homeostasis. 5. 10. Ribosomal Proteins in Diamond-Blackfan Anemia : Insights into Failure of Ribosome Function

    Författare :Jitendra Badhai; Niklas Dahl; Anthony Wright; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diamond-Blackfan anemia; RPS19; Ribosomal proteins; Haploinsufficiency; cell cycle; Apoptosis; Erythropoiesis; Medical genetics; Medicinsk genetik; Clinical Genetics; klinisk genetik;

    Sammanfattning : Diamond-Blackfan anemia (DBA) is a severe congenital anemia characterized by a defect in red blood cell production. The disease is associated with growth retardation, malformations, a predisposition for malignant disease and heterozygous mutations in either of the ribosomal protein (RP) genes RPS7, RPS17, RPS19, RPS24, RPL5, RPL11 and RPL35a.
