  1. 1. Building Sustainable Batteries : Organic electrodes based on Li- and Na-benzenediacrylate

    Författare :Alina Oltean; Daniel Brandell; Leif Nyholm; Steven Renault; Martin Sjödin; Robert Dominko; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Organic Electrode Materials; Li-ion Batteries; Na-ion Batteries; Calendaring; Recycling Process; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : As possible alternatives to the conventional inorganic Li- or Na-ion battery electrode materials, organic compounds have recently drawn considerable attention. However, major challenges such as poor electronic conductivity, solubility in battery electrolyte or fast capacity decay of the resulting electrochemical cells are some of the reasons that hold these compounds back from becoming commercial solutions in the energy system. 2. 2. Characterization and Dissolution of HEV NiMH Batteries

    Författare :Kristian Larsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :Materials Recycling; Nickel tetracarbonyl; Selective dissolution; Nickel metal hydride; Characterization; Mond; Batteries;

    Sammanfattning : The recycling of batteries is an important issue in a sustainable society where materials recycling of complex products is a necessity. Without an efficient recycling there will be an unnecessary loss of both materials and energy due to inefficient or non-existent recycling. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Rechargeable batteries have already conquered the market of portable electronics (i.e., mobile phones and laptops) and are set to further enable the large-scale deployment of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles in a not too distant future. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Operando Characterisation of Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

    Författare :Yu-Chuan Chien; Daniel Brandell; Matthew Lacey; Paul Shearing; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; lithium–sulfur batteries; operando characterisation; intermittent current interruption; X-ray diffraction; small-angle scattering; electrochemical impedance spectroscopy; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries have been under the spotlight of research on electrochemical energy storage systems, primarily owing to their high theoretical specific energy (2552 Wh kg-1). So far, Li–S cells on the market have presented a specific energy of 400 Wh kg-1, which is superior to many commercial alternatives, but far below the theoretical value. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Iron Based Materials for Positive Electrodes in Li-ion Batteries : Electrode Dynamics, Electronic Changes, Structural Transformations

    Författare :Andreas Blidberg; Fredrik Björefors; Torbjörn Gustafsson; Carl Tengstedt; Miran Gaberšček; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Li-ion battery technology is currently the most efficient form of electrochemical energy storage. The commercialization of Li-ion batteries in the early 1990’s revolutionized the portable electronics market, but further improvements are necessary for applications in electric vehicles and load levelling of the electric grid.
