1. Generalized Vandermonde matrices and determinants in electromagnetic compatibility
Sammanfattning : Matrices whose rows (or columns) consists of monomials of sequential powers are called Vandermonde matrices and can be used to describe several useful concepts and have properties that can be helpful for solving many kinds of problems. In this thesis we will discuss this matrix and some of its properties as well as a generalization of it and how it can be applied to curve fitting discharge current for the purpose of ensuring electromagnetic compatibility. 2. Varför undervisning i matematik? : argument för matematik i grundskolan - i läroplaner, läroplansdebatt och hos blivande lärare
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to investigate, describe and analyse the justification and the goals of mathematics education in compulsory school in Sweden. The focus here is on student teachers and their conceptions of why mathematics should be taught in school. LÄS MER
3. Mathematics teachers' conceptions about equations
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to describe and to clarify the mathematics teachers’ subject matter and pedagogical content conceptions about equations. As the basis of these conceptions, the teachers’ experiences of the concept learning of equations from their own school time are described. LÄS MER
4. Arnold-type invariants of curves and wave fronts on surfaces
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to the study of invariants of generic curves and wave fronts on surfaces. The invariants J± and St were axiomatically defined by Arnold as numerical characteristics of generic curves (immersions of the circle)on ℝ2 he introduced J± in the case of generic planar wave fronts. 5. Embedding Theorems for Mixed Norm Spaces and Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to the study of mixed norm spaces that arise in connection with embeddings of Sobolev and Besov type spaces. The work in this direction originates in a paper due to Gagliardo (1958), and was continued by Fournier (1988) and by Kolyada (2005). We consider fully anisotropic mixed norm spaces. LÄS MER
