6. Sustainability and Flexural Behaviour of Textile Reinforced Concrete
Sammanfattning : Concrete reinforced with conventional steel is one of the most commonly used building materials, yet it has historically shown disadvantages in terms of durability and vulnerability to corrosion attack. Various remedial methods have been applied to overcome the shortcomings of this building material, such as increasing the concrete cover, which, however, leads to an increased self-weight of the structure. 7. Mineral diagenesis and petrology of the Dala Sandstone, central Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Dala Sandstone, of Proterozoic age, is the most extensive sedimentary unit in central Sweden. The rocks are quartz sandstones, lithic sandstones, feldspathic sandstones, arkoses and greywackes with intercalations of shales and siltstones less than 1 m thick. The Öje Basalt divides the sedimentary sequence into two parts. LÄS MER
8. Evolution of a silicic magma reservoir in the upper crust : Reyðarártindur pluton, Southeast Iceland
Sammanfattning : Field observations of extinct and exposed magma reservoirs shed light on processes operating in the roots of presently active volcanoes. The Reyðarártindur pluton, Southeast Iceland is an example of a fossil shallow magma reservoir that fed eruptions. LÄS MER
9. Fossilized microorganisms in volcanic rocks from sub-seafloor environments
Sammanfattning : Fossilized microorganisms are focused in this thesis. Such organisms have been observed in drilled basalt samples from the Emperor Seamounts in the Pacific Ocean collected during ODP (Ocean Drilling Program) Leg 197. LÄS MER
10. The geochemistry and petrogenesis of the Notträsk mafic intrusion, northern Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Notträsk intrusive body is an early Proterozoic layered mafic intrusion probably of lopolithic form. It intrudes metasedimentary gneisses and shows the characteristics of Precambrian plutons which are contemporaneous with intercratonic tholeiitic volcanism; it represents the cumulates of a crustal-level magma chamber that may have been the source of basaltic volcanism in the area.
