    Sammanfattning : In the wake of a steady flow of child migrants attempting to cross borders and states’ efforts to restrict immigration, various public controversies have arisen about the rights of asylum-seeking children. The ‘moral gap’ between the outcome of democratically enacted laws and the aim of controlling immigration, on the one hand, and public calls to protect the universal rights of asylum seeking children, on the other, have created a political challenge for Western democracies. This study looks at the power relations between children and adults in preschool in the context of educational activities intending to increase gender equity, social equality, and participation.     Sammanfattning : The dissertation contains an analysis of children’s right to participate in legal proceedings that concern the child personally in Swedish law and according to the international undertakings that Sweden has accepted, inter alia, by ratification of the UN convention on the rights of the child.In this work, an investigation is made into the application by the district courts of the legislative rules introduced in 1996, which give the child to right to state its view on matters that affect them personally.     Sammanfattning : This thesis analyzes how children and youth being resettled from Kenya and Sudan were prepared for their upcoming resettlement to Sweden, through cultural orientation programs (COPs).
