  1. 1. Tissue transglutaminase autoantibodies in childhood celiac disease

    Detta är en avhandling från Paediatric Endocrinology Research Group

    Sammanfattning : Celiac disease is a prevalent small bowel disease in children caused by permanent intolerance against gliadin, which is the alcohol-soluble fraction of the cereal protein gluten in wheat, rye and barley. Celiac disease is characterized by an inflammatory infiltrate of CD4+ T lymphocytes in the intestinal mucosa leading to damage of villous structure and loss of absorptive surface. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Maternal diabetes during pregnancy – obstetrical considerations and long term effects

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Lund University

    Författare :Andrea Stuart; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Maternal diabetes mellitus (DM) during pregnancy has detrimental health impacts on both the mother and fetus, and include increased risks of cardiac malformations, cesarean section (CS), and asphyxia. The aim of the thesis was to investigate short and long term cardiac effects after fetal exposure to DM, investigate the ability of a 5 minute Apgar score as a marker for obstetrical care, investigate the association between mode of delivery in diabetic pregnancies and a low 5 minute Apgar score, and to investigate the association between offspring birth weight and maternal risk of future DM. 3. 3. Transcriptional regulation in neuroblastoma cells under normoxic and hypoxic conditions

    Detta är en avhandling från Annika Jögi, Västerg. 40, 211 21 Malmö

    Sammanfattning : The childhood malignancy neuroblastoma develops from early cells of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), and the tumors often produce catecholamines. Neuroblastoma cells retain several characteristics of immature sympathetic cells including the expression of a number of transcription factors normally expressed during embryogenesis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Transcriptional Regulation of HIF2A/EPAS1 in Neuroblastoma

    Detta är en avhandling från Division of Translational Cancer Research

    Författare :Arash Hamidian; [2016]

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a childhood tumor of the developing sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in children before one year of age. Although survival curves have improved for these patients during the past decades, the conventional regimen of neuroblastoma treatment has clearly reached a plateau of efficiency with regard to increasing the survival rates of high-risk children.
