Sammanfattning : Pathogenic bacteria express a wide array of surface proteins that interact with the environment. Many of these proteins are believed to be important for the virulence. This thesis deals with the binding of immunoglobulins (Ig) and complement regulating proteins to certain bacterial surface proteins. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Light is the primary source of energy on our planet and has been a significant driver in the evolution of human society and technology. Light finds applications in two-dimensional (2D) photolithography and three-dimensional (3D) printing, where a pattern is transferred to a material of interest by ultraviolet (UV) light exposure, and in laser scribing and cutting, where high power lasers are used to pattern the surface of objects or cut through the bulk of the material of interest. Sammanfattning : Only two out of more than 200 V. cholerae serogroups, classified on the basis of LPS structure, are associated with epidemic or pandemic cholera. These toxigenic serogroups carry phage-derived pathogenicity islands coding for the main virulence factors for establishment of cholera disease – cholera toxin (CTX) and toxin-coregulated pilus (TCP). Sammanfattning : HTML clipboard The great advances in DNA technology, e.g. sequencing and recombinant DNA techniques, have given us the genetic information and the tools needed to effectively produce recombinant proteins. Recombinant proteins are valuable means in biotechnological applications and are also emerging as alternatives in therapeutic applications. LÄS MER
