  1. 1. Motorik, koncentrationsförmåga och skolprestationer : en interventionsstudie i skolår 1-3

    Författare :Ingegerd Ericsson; Utbildningsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Physical training; physical education; motor training; Cognition; motor skill observations; motorial learning; sport; Idrott; gymnastik; motorisk inlärning; academic achievements;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to study effects of an extension of physical education/activity and motor training on motor skills, attention and cognition during a period of three years. Another aim is to develop a test, MUGI observationsschema, which could be useful in charting motor skills of school pupils. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Functional Recovery after Experimental Stroke in Mice- Involvement of Enriched Environment, BDNF and Cell Genesis

    Författare :Josefine Nygren; Sektion IV; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; neurophysiology; Neurologi; Neurology; neuropsychology; functional recovery; focal ischemia; cell genesis; BDNF; enriched environment; mice;

    Sammanfattning : Stroke is caused by an obstruction of blood flow to a part of the brain, resulting in brain damage. Stroke is the third most common cause of death in the industrialized world, and the primary cause of adult-onset disability. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Generation of midbrain dopaminergic neurons in vivo and in vitro: the role of Neurogenin2

    Författare :Elin Andersson; Neurobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; cell replacement; Parkinson?s; dopamine; neuronal specification; development; mesencephalon; TH; neuronal differentiation; proneural genes; transcription factors; bHLH; neurospheres; stem cell; progenitor cell;

    Sammanfattning : Parkinsons disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder where dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra (SNc) in the mesencephalon are progressively eliminated. The ensuing loss of dopaminergic innervation of the basal ganglia manifests itself as severe motor deficits in PD patients. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Laparoscopic or Open Antireflux Surgery - A Comparative Study with Special Reference to the Patient´s Perspective

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Antireflux surgery; fundoplication; RCT; laparoscopy versus open surgery; subjective outcomes; objective outcomes; narratives; short-term follow-up; long-term follow-up; Surgery; Kirurgi; Health Informatics; Hälsoinformatik; Omvårdnad; Nursing; Gastro-enterology; Gastroenterologi; traumatology; orthopaedics; Surgery; long-term follow-up; short-term follow-up; narratives; objective outcomes; subjective outcomes; laparoscopy versus open surgery; RCT; Antireflux surgery; fundoplication; Kirurgi; traumatologi; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to compare the effects of laparoscopic versus open antireflux surgery in a randomized clinical trial focusing the patients' subjective and objective outcome postoperatively, from a short-term and a long-term perspective. A further aim was to describe GORD patients' experiences of illness and surgical treatment and if possible to find striking characteristics relating to laparoscopic or open surgery. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Discordant Neural Xenografting: Analysis and Modulation of Immune Responses

    Författare :Lena Cecilia Larsson; Neurobiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsykologi; Neurologi; neurofysiologi; neurophysiology; neuropsychology; Neurology; immunosuppression; immunology; xenograft; pig; Parkinson s disease; intracerebral transplantation;

    Sammanfattning : Transplantation of embryonic human neural tissue can restore function in patients with Parkinson’s disease, but there is a severe shortage of donor tissue which limits the applicability of the technique. Embryonic neural tissue from other species, xenogeneic tissue, would provide a readily accessible donor tissue with the potential to help patients if the immunological reactions in the host could be prevented.
