11. Conifer embryology : a study of polar auxin transport and WOX transcription factors
Sammanfattning : Plants, like animals, use endogenous signaling molecules to coordinate their own physiology and development. One such molecule in plants is the hormone auxin and recent research has implicated auxin and its polar transport, together with the WOX transcription factors, in regulating embryo patterning and development in angiosperms (flowering plants), the most diverse group of land plants. 12. SHI/STY-family members redundantly regulate auxin homeostasis in basal and higher plants
Sammanfattning : The hormone auxin plays fundamental roles in plant development by stimulating growth and differentiation of cells and tissues. Auxin action appears to rely on the formation of auxin gradients and/or concentration maxima, in large created by polar auxin transport. LÄS MER
13. Auxin dynamics during adventitious root formation in pea (Pisum sativum L.) cuttings
Sammanfattning : The regulatory function of the auxins indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) inadventitious root formation was studied in cuttings of pea (Pisum sativum L.). These auxins, aswell as the conjugate of IAA with aspartic acid (lAAsp), were identified as naturally occurringconstituents in both seedlings and cuttings. LÄS MER
14. Changes in global gene expression and auxin dynamics during embryo development in conifers
Sammanfattning : Conifers are of great economical importance, but our knowledge about how the development of conifers is regulated is limited. The over-all aim of this study has been to gain a better understanding of the molecular regulation of embryo development in conifers. LÄS MER
15. Regulation of organ development by auxin and the SHI/STY-family of transcriptional regulators
Sammanfattning : Transcription factors, proteins regulating the transcription of target genes, and plant hormones play important roles in the regulation of plant development. The plant hormone auxin has been assigned functions in many developmental processes and its differential distribution between cells, created mainly by local auxin biosynthesis and polar auxin transport, results in auxin maxima and gradients, which appear to be important for its role in developmental regulation.
