2. Early age properties of self-compacting concrete - Effects of fine aggregate and limestone filler
Sammanfattning : Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a sensitive mix, strongly dependent on the composition and the characteristics of its constituents. It has to possess the incompatible properties of high flowability together with high segregation resistance, a balance made possible by the dispersing effect of water-reducing admixture combined with cohesiveness produced by a high concentration of fine particles. 3. Hardening concrete : measurments and evaluation of non-elastic deformation and associated restraint stresses
Sammanfattning : If a structural member of hardening concrete is restrained to some degree against expansion and contraction during the heating phase of the hydration process and the subsequent contraction phase, stresses will be induced. The issue of primary interest is whether or not these induced stresses will lead to cracking. LÄS MER
4. Measurement and modelling of young concrete properties
Sammanfattning : The main aim of this thesis is to refine models for strength and heat development of the young concrete, and evaluate if developed models at Luleå University of Technology (LTU) for creep, autogenous shrinkage and thermal dilation needs refinement. These are of importance in hardening control and in crack control of a concrete structure. LÄS MER
5. Weld Pool Simulations
Sammanfattning : This investigation is devoted to the study of welding and its effect on the workpiece, focusing on the thermo and fluid dynamical phenomena occuring during a autogenous or nonautogenous arc fusion welding process. Its aim is to simulate the behaviour of the weld pool and analyze the consequence of the solid-liquid phase change, thus obtaining a methodology for predicting the appearance of weld defects related to solidification and cooling.
