  1. 11. Performing Punk : Subcultural Authentications and the Positioning of the Mainstream

    Författare :Erik Hannerz; Tora Holmberg; Philip Lalander; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; subculture; punk; mainstream; authentication; style; identity; cultural sociology; ethnography; convex; concave; patterns of meaning; Sociologi; Sociology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is about how and in opposition to what punk is defined and lived out by punks in Sweden and Indonesia. Arguing against the previous research’s presumption that subcultural meaning constitutes a single set of meaning, this study points to two patterned sets of meanings, each constructed out of several different definitions of the mainstream as well as the subcultural authentic. 2. 12. Ancient DNA as a Means to Investigate the European Neolithic

    Författare :Helena Malmström; Anders Göterström; Gunilla Holmlund; T Brown; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Molecular genetics; aDNA; contamination; authentication; mtDNA; Neolithisation; Genetik;

    Sammanfattning : The transition from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to a farming lifestyle, i.e. the Neolithisation, is arguably the most important event in human prehistory. While the geography and dating of the Neolithisation is well known, the process is still under debate, especially if it occurred through diffusion of ideas or with migrating farmers. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Wireless communication is a key enabler for connecting billions of Internet of Things devices. For networked embedded devices operating on limited energy resources, wireless communication dominates the power consumption. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Performance Guarantees for Physical Layer Authentication in Mission-Critical Communications

    Författare :Henrik Forssell; Ragnar Thobaben; Stefano Tomasin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Physical layer authentication; mission-critical communica- tions; worst-case performance; queueing delay performance; stochastic net- work calculus; optimal attack strategies.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : As the application areas for wireless communications are expanding, we also see new security vulnerabilities arise due to the open nature of the wire- less medium. One particularly challenging problem is how to guarantee the security of emerging mission-critical communications, e.g. LÄS MER

  5. 15. User Perception and Performance of Authentication Procedures

    Författare :Charlott Lorentzen; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : There is no doubt that security mechanisms, such as authentication, are required in Information and Communication Technology, but they come at a price: Users need to spend additional time and effort to authenticate themselves. With this in mind, user perception of authentication is an important factor for successful use of authentication solutions. LÄS MER
