Syftet med avhandlingen är rekonstruktion och analys av innehållet i de etablerade partiernas strategiska bemötande av partier som anses utmana centrala principer inom den liberala demokratin, såsom pluralism och tolerans, och vars närvaro också anses skapa ett demokratiskt dilemma.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the role of visibility in the production and contestation of belonging to political communities. On the basis of an empirical enquiry of Russian media during the 2010s, a theoretical conceptualization of the relation between visibility and belonging is suggested, starting in the idea that what becomes visible to publics and how, and what is rendered invisible, are the objects of constant political regulation and contestation.     Sammanfattning : Grounded in an understanding of tourism as a political phenomenon that has consequential impacts on how we understand people and space, and in an understanding of peacebuilding as a participatory process that must involve ordinary citizens, this thesis explores the relationship between tourism and peace. Taking inspiration from the confidence of global organisations and tourism scholars that tourism has a role in peacebuilding, I explore how tourism could serve to challenge conflicts that are deemed intractable - conflicts that are particularly hard to solve.
