  1. 21. Conduction Disturbances in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation

    Författare :Eva Hertervig; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; Pulmonary Vein Potentials; Atrial Fibrillation; Conduction Disturbances;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The electrophysiological mechanisms underlying atrial fibrillation (AF) are incompletely understood. Experimental studies have shown that remodelling of the atrial myocardium is linked to the occurrence and perpetuation of AF. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Secundum atrial septal defect in the adult. Clinical, haemodynamic and electrophysiological aspects

    Författare :Ulf Thilén; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MRI; clinical outcome; atrial fibrillation; Atrial septal defect; atrial conduction; remodelling.;

    Sammanfattning : Atrial septal defect (ASD) is the most common congenital heart malformation diagnosed in adult life. In this thesis important clinical, haemodynamic and electrophysiological aspects of ASD in the adult are explored. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting : Risk factors and clinical outcome

    Författare :Emma Thorén; Elisabeth Ståhle; Elmir Omerovic; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atrial fibrillation; coronary artery bypass grafting; coronary artery disease; epidemiology; morbidity; mortality; outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is a common complication after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), and more knowledge is needed regarding prediction of POAF, the extent of early atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence after discharge, and the associations between POAF and short and long-term overall and cause-specific mortality and morbidity.After CABG, 31-32% of all patients developed POAF. 4. 24. Sleep apnea and atrial fibrillation: cause or comorbidity?

    Författare :Henrik Holtstrand Hjälm; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Obstructive sleep apnea; atrial fibrillation; excessive daytime sleepiness;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and atrial fibrillation (AF) are common conditions, associated with morbidity and mortality. Both OSA and AF often go undetected. It has been suggested that OSA may be a modifiable risk factor for AF development. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Partner relationship in couples living with atrial fibrillation

    Författare :Tomas Dalteg; Eva Benzein; Dan Malm; Anna Sandgren; Anna-Karin Edberg; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; cardiac disease; couples; partner-relationship;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to describe and explore how the partner relationship of patient–partner dyads isaffected following cardiac disease and, in particular, atrial fibrillation (AF) in one of the spouses.The thesis is based on four individual studies with different designs: descriptive (I), explorative (II, IV), and cross-sectional (III).
