11. Aspects on Cardiac Pumping
Sammanfattning : Cardiac pumping physiology is important for understanding the pathophysiology of patients with cardiac disease. MRI gives the opportunity to measure volumes and flow non-invasively with high accuracy and precision. This thesis examines some aspects on cardiac pumping physiology. LÄS MER
12. Physiological aspects on intracardiac blood flow
Sammanfattning : Magnetic resonance imaging enables detailed in vivo study of complex flow through 3D, time-resolved phase contrast imaging (4D flow). 4D flow may reveal previously unknown aspects of the physiology of intracardiac blood flow, and possibly elucidate pathophysiological processes that have yet to manifest themselves outside the heart. 13. Usefulness of coronary angiography for assessing left ventricular function
Sammanfattning : This thesis focus on the physiological information, on left ventricular (LV) motion in the long axis, evaluated in routine coronaty angiography sequences and based on previous knowledge from echocardiographic studies. As coronary angiography has become a very frequent examination, a method for assessment of LV function from routine coronary angiograms would probably have a significant impact on clinical work. 14. Mitral Ring Motion in Assessment of Left Ventricular Function
Sammanfattning : The motion of the mitral ring was studied with M-mode echocardiography using the apical four- and two-chamber views. With the purpose of obtaining adequate reference materials for mitral ring motion, 70 healthy subjects were studied. LÄS MER
15. Automated analysis of fetal cardiac function : a new approach based on tissue Doppler imaging
Sammanfattning : The heart is a central organ in fetal adaptation to various hemodynamic insults and it is possible that subtle changes caused by complications such as hypoxia and anemia could manifest themselves early as altered fetal cardiac function. Color tissue Doppler imaging (cTDI) is an ultrasound technique that evaluates myocardial motion by assessing myocardial velocities. LÄS MER
