12. The role of CD30 in atopic allergy
Sammanfattning : The 120 kDa CD30 molecule belongs to the tumour necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily and is expressed by activated lymphoid cells. Small populations of CD30+ cells have been detected in the peripheral lymphoid organs, as well as in the thymus. A subset of CD45RO+, so-called memory T cells, also express CD30 after various kind of stimuli. LÄS MER
13. Individual and environmental risk factors for hand eczema in hospital workers
Sammanfattning : Individual and environmental risk factors in hand eczema have been investigated in a prospective cohort study of 2452 newly employed hospital workers with a follow-up time of 20 months. Current hand eczema was analyzed in 142 wet hospital workers from this cohort with respect to the etiologic importance of irritants, allergens and contact urticants. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate two different types of adverse reactions, persistent itching nodules and contact allergy to aluminium, after immunization with aluminium-containing vaccines and aluminium-containing allergen extracts used for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). The first paper describes active parental reporting of adverse events (AEFIs) after a booster dose of diphtheria-tetanus vaccine (DT). LÄS MER
