    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; GWAS; canine model; genetic association; immunogenetics; atopic dermatitis; IgA deficiency; Molekylär genetik; Molecular Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents genetic studies of atopic dermatitis (AD) and IgA deficiency in dogs.AD is a chronic inflammatory and pruritic skin disorder caused by allergic reactions against environmental allergens. 2. 12. The role of CD30 in atopic allergy

    Författare :Åsa Bengtsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :CD30; sCD30; CD30L; allergy; atopic dermatitis; T-cell clone; Th1 Th2; placenta; glutathione GSH ; N-acetyl-L-cysteine NAC ;

    Sammanfattning : The 120 kDa CD30 molecule belongs to the tumour necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily and is expressed by activated lymphoid cells. Small populations of CD30+ cells have been detected in the peripheral lymphoid organs, as well as in the thymus. A subset of CD45RO+, so-called memory T cells, also express CD30 after various kind of stimuli. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Individual and environmental risk factors for hand eczema in hospital workers

    Författare :Eskil Nilsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hand eczema; prospective study; hospital workers; irritants; contact allergy; contact urticaria; atopy; metal dermatitis; multivariate regression analysis; evaluation of risk factors; microflora; S. aureus in hand eczema;

    Sammanfattning : Individual and environmental risk factors in hand eczema have been investigated in a prospective cohort study of 2452 newly employed hospital workers with a follow-up time of 20 months. Current hand eczema was analyzed in 142 wet hospital workers from this cohort with respect to the etiologic importance of irritants, allergens and contact urticants. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Aspects of Microbial Influence on Skin Disease

    Författare :Andreas Sonesson; Lund Dermatologi och venereologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The skin constitutes an effective barrier mediating protection against environmental danger and foreign substances. At the surface of the skin, the residential microorganisms grow as small colonies and consist of various non-pathogenic bacteria, fungi and viruses. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Adverse Reactions after Vaccination and Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy: Contact Allergy to Aluminium and Itching Nodules

    Författare :Eva Netterlid; Yrkes- och miljödermatologi; []

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate two different types of adverse reactions, persistent itching nodules and contact allergy to aluminium, after immunization with aluminium-containing vaccines and aluminium-containing allergen extracts used for allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT). The first paper describes active parental reporting of adverse events (AEFIs) after a booster dose of diphtheria-tetanus vaccine (DT). LÄS MER
